I love cooking--for me, it's the best way to relax. I'm in sales and work from home. I subscribe to a couple of food magazines and own, literally, over 200 cookbooks. The food channel has replaced Lifetime as my "always on" in the kitchen! I love to read, and cookbooks are right up there with first reading choices. The Barefoot Contessa is my idol--I want to live next door to her and have her invite me for lunch or dinner; and Down Home With the Neelys makes me wish my husband loved to cook!
I'm almost 25 years married, no kids, but 2 amazing cats--Charlie and Tucker. I love dogs but cats are so EZ!
My favorite things to cook
Pork chops and tenderloin, lasagne, spaghetti & meatballs, seafood of almost any kind, unless I have to kill it to cook it--i.e., lobster.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a family of very few traditions of any kind, except that Sunday was stuffed roast chicken day (even though my father would go to his grave hating chicken), with buttercake from the bakery for dessert. My Polish grandmother would let me help her make the piergoies--potato, and potato and saurkraut.
My cooking triumphs
Best lasagne ever! Best chicken and corn chowder. My lasagne has gotten thumbs up from many "old time" Italians--the best compliment of all!
My cooking tragedies
Too many to list! OMG--my husband has stories!
