Beer Margaritas

Yes made this last weekend and it was very good. I used 7-up in place of the water and added about 1/2 cup of triple sec. Mixed the beer in and stirred, served it over ice and very happy with the results. I am making them again this weekend and can't wait. It was not to sweet at all with the 7-up. So easy to make a pitcher and relax with company. Thank you for posting! PS I hate beer and could not taste the beer. Used a light lime beer. My new favorite summer drink.

Classic Spanish Sangria

OMG!!!! This is one kick Sangria. It sneaks up on you, be very careful! The first time I made it I used the Captain Morgan Spiced Rum and Triple Sec. It was so smooth. I used the Blackberry Merlot and it was wonderful. I used orange, lemon and lime slices. Definately a KEEPER!!! I made it the same way the next time and warned everyone to pace yourself. Look no further this is the one!!

Strawberry Basil Margarita

WOW!!! Very addicting! I made this recipe last night to test out before we have guests this weekend and I was so surprised how good it was. I thought it was an unusual combination of ingredients but wow do they ever go together. I followed the recipe exactly except I used Grand Marnier for the orange-flavored liqueur. Measured everything exactly and I had fresh sweet basil out on the deck growing. I even counted the ice cubes (8) I figured I would follow the recipe to a tea and then tweek it after. No need to tweek!! Perfect as is. I agree with another reveiwer, it tastes like an expensive mixed drink from a fine restaurant. I put the blender on liquify and it blended everything perfectly. Yummy!!! I can't wait to server this on Sat. night. Thank you for recipe!!! I might have to do another test run tonight...:D

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

I made this recipe and only omited the raisins. They were so good. I made 30 cupcakes and baked for 30 min. at 350. I also added a cream cheese frosting (1 8OZ cream cheese, 4 TBSP butter, 1 tsp vanilla @ zest of 1 orange beat with 1 LB confectioners sugars) So yummy!!!! I say no more....

Vanilla Wafer Cake IV

First of all the cake is very tasty. The problem was after I generously greased and floured the bundt pan the cake when turned out was stuck to the bottom of the pan. What a mess. Maybe I should have let it COMPLETLY cool before turning it onto a plate. I do not know. The cake was very yummy and I could not stop eating the messy top that was stuck to the pan. I hate to throw anything out so it will go into work with me today and I am sure the girls will enjoy what I have salvaged from this mess. I will try it again some day and let it sit for hours before I take it out of the pan. It is very yummy.

Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake

I made this yesterday for friends coming to dinner and I was a little disapointed. I had this dessert in Merrickville, Ont. and it was to die for. I found this recipe and had high expectations. I made it in muffin tins and they were really hard to get out. They stuck and fell apart. The recipe should of said to prep the pan. Also the recipe does not say to puree the dates after they are in the hot water. I saw that on TV while someone at some restaurant in Boston made this recipe. It was good and I would like to make this again but maybe with a different sauce from another site. It was very brown sugary tasting. My guests were very happy with it but I was comparing it to the one I had at the restaurant. Thank you for the recipe and I will keep tweeking it.

Lemon Pie Bars

I made these yesterday morning for a quick and easy dessert. I served them with a spoonful of cool whip on top and it was so yummy. I needed 4 lemons for the amount of juice I needed 1/2 cup. My sons friend said he has a new favorite dessert. I have now a great treat to bring into work on Mon. Thank you again for another keeper. This will go in my repeat file.

Steamed Mussels with Fennel, Tomatoes, Ouzo, and Cream

I made this last night for my husband as an appetizer and he said he would be thrilled to get this in a restaurant. I did not have the ouzo. It was the first time I ever cooked mussels. Very easy and I will definatly be making this again for company some day. I do not eat mussels but I was sopping up the broth with crusty bread I made sure I picked up as per another reveiwer's suggestion. You definatly need the bread for that wonderful broth. Thank you for the great recipe.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

I made this last night with some changes and it was so yummy. I added 1/4 cup of red wine and increased the worchester to 4 tsp. Also added the pkg of McCormicks Beef Stew Seasonings. My husband said it was very good and will go in the keep recipe box. The meat was so tender and fell apart. Thank you for a great recipe and my first attempt at Beef Stew was a success!!!

Pasta Primavera with Smoked Gouda

Excellent dish !!!!!! I made it last night and it was so good. It made a lot and there was only my husband and I so I have a lot to take into work to my friends. I added cooked chicken and the smoked gouda really gave it that wow factor. I am definatly going to make this again, it's a keeper. Thank you.......

Lemon Sponge Pie I

I made this pie after searching out a recipe for a Lemon Sponge Pie and took it to work today and it was called a bangin' dessert. Definatly a keeper and I felt bad I did not have a blueberry syrup for it but it did not need it at all!!!! I had baked it for 5 min. longer and it was perfect. I followed the directions exactly. I would not change a thing. It is a nice change from Lemon Meringue Pie. I am making it again next week and can't wait. Thank you Kitty
