Simple Scones

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2014
I make these almost weekly. I use light butter and nonfat yogurt to make them healthier. Many variations are delicious. I like tropical (coconut extract and dried tropical fruit), cranberry almond, & white chocolate cherry the best

Quick and Easy Pancit

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2014
I thought this didn't have much flavor and was a lot of chopping for something that wasn't very good

Cajun Chicken and Sausage Gumbo

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2013
This turned out kind of slimy (even though I cooked the okra a long time - it never got unslimy) and had a odd texture. It also didn't have a great flavor - it was just alright. I won't make it again

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2012
These are ok cookies...I did everything the recipe said and followed others' advice about mixing softened butter with your hands, but it was a very crumbly cookie. I was expecting it to hold together better. And as for taste, it was good, but I've had cookies with a similar concept that tasted much better. I mean, they're not bad, but I was expecting them to be great.

Frosted Rhubarb Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2012
I like the idea of rhubarb cookies because they are unique, I just wasn't thrilled with these. I was skeptical of them, but I definitely think they are good. I just don't think they are exceptional. I would prefer other rhubarb desserts or other cookies better.

Strawberry Cake II

Reviewed: May 24, 2012
Great taste, but it was more like brownie consistency than cake - very dense. I don't know if it was from my alterations or if it was the cake in general. I didn't want a whole cup of oil in the cake, so I used 1/2 cup applesauce, and I used 5 oz fresh pureed strawberries instead of frozen. Those were my only changes to the cake, and my result was awesome flavor but very dense. I didn't use the frosting - instead I put a layer of lemon pie filling and a layer of cool whip on top.

Deep-Dish Blackberry Pie

Reviewed: May 17, 2012
Awesome flavor. I wouldn't call it "Deep-Dish" though. I made it in a pie pan & it was really shallow. It has a really yummy sweetness with a sour kick, which I loved. Very delicious. I did the filling exactly as the recipe says, but I got a little nervous about the crust getting too dark as other readers have suggested happens, so I baked the lattice crust (a pre-made one since I was in a hurry) separately and laid it on top when the filling came out of the oven as I do in a cherry cobbler recipe I make. That worked perfectly. I will definitely be making this again!

Blonde Brownie Nut Squares

Reviewed: May 17, 2012
These had an awesome flavor, however they were not brownie consistency - they were more like a bar cookie. Very chewy in the middle and crispy on the edges. I was expecting them to be more cake-like than they were. I would definitely make them again, though. Everybody who tried them loved them!

Turkey Pasta Primavera

Reviewed: May 10, 2012
This was way too creamy for my boyfriend and my taste, and I only used 5 oz of cream cheese! I would probably only use about 3oz if I were to make it again. I used real garlic like others have and sauteed the veggies. I also used 1Tbsp of italian seasoning for fear of it being bland. It definitely didn't pop with flavor, but I don't think it was too bland.

Lemon Chicken Strips

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
This is ok, but it's not great. I won't make it again. It's flavors just didn't really go well together. Kinda spicy, kinda sweet, but really funky. And I usually like funky things, just not this. It would have been much better to just have boring chicken fingers (aka, leave off the sauce)

Cinnamon Belgian Waffles

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
These are very light and delicious! I used 1 tsp of cinnamon to make sure the flavor came through and I used milk instead of buttermilk. I served them with strawberry jam since I don't like maple syrup. Excellent!

Yum! I had to bake it for about 15 minutes longer than it said, but it turned out perfectly! I love regular blueberry pie, but I like this better!

Middle Eastern Cumin Meatballs

Good flavor. My meatballs fell apart, though. I've never had that problem before, but I just served it as ground beef over rice and it tasted good.
