Gyros Burgers

These Gyro burgers are truly wonderful. I used breadcumbs instead of actual bread...but that's really all I did differently. They taste so much like Gyros that whatever craving you have for gryos will be totally satisfied. You can use all ground beef if you like instead of half lamb and half beef. They are juicy flavorful and the spices are spot on! I cannot say enough about these. They hit the spot. Yummy yummy.

Bobbie's Oatmeal Cookies

Like so many others have noted, these cookies are very easy to customize. I have made them twice now and this last time I used half butter and half butter flavored shortening....which makes the cookie spread out (butter) and yet remain chewy (shortening). I used dried blueberries, oatmeal, white chocolate chips and almonds.....yummy yummy! Try these cookies you will not be dissapointed!!

Broccoli Chicken Roli

LOVED this recipe! I did find the filling was more than one tube of Crescent rolls could hold WAY WAY more) so I used another tube of crescent dough and made two Roli's... I sauteed the onion, bell pepper and garlic beforehand and used steamed frozen broccoli because I worried that with a mere 30 minute cook time the veggies would not be done. I read other's comments about the filling being bland, so I added a packet of ranch dressing mix....and WOWEEE it made the Roli DELISHIOUS! I turned my oven down to 350 too because they were getting brown way too fast! Great recipe....looks soooo impressive and tastes heavenly!

The famous 5 cheese mac and cheese

This is hands down the BEST mac and cheese I have ever had. Sophisticated yet gooey- the cheeses are PERFECT and the consistancy is silky. I have never had a mac and cheese that I would reccomend anyone try let alone make themselves this one is worth the effort!

Brownies with Peanut Butter Fudge Frosting

My boyfriend is a dyed in the wool peanut butter fanatic! He put a forkfull of this brownie in his mouth and yelled "SUCCESS". I followed the recipe exactly aside from adding a few more tablespoons of peanut butter after the condensed milk and about a half tsp of salt to bring out the peanut butter flavor a bit more. For those of you who said "goopy"....I can only imagine your mistake was to not cool the brownies before you added the fudge frosting. I chilled the brownies and spread the frosting on while it was still warm but not hot...then I chilled the whole lot for about 30 minutes. Lovely moist brownies covered in thick peanut butter fudge! Thumbs up from me and the boyfriend...I do not even like peanut butter that much and I LOVED these!

Fresh Broccoli Salad

I am hard to please and afraid of watery mayo based salads- BUT. This was the most delicious salad I have ever had. I placed my broccoli in boiling water for 30 secs and shocked it in ice water, then drained it. (This made it crunchy yet tender, and bright green) I also used craisins and sunflower seeds...and a TBL of Splenda instead of all the sugar (which was PLENTY). I only had raspberry wine vinegar which was fantastic. OH, and I used a splash of lemon juice to brighten it up. I think there are a lot of different ways you can go with this salad. I could have eaten the entire bowlful! This would be a hit at any potluck or as a cooling side dish in the summer. WONDERFUL
