About this Cook
I love trying new things and learning how to improve my cooking skills. I perfected the art of improvisation by being forced to work with limited ingredients when I was in college. I love concocting meals out of random ingredients. I LOVE CHEESE, good olive oil, crusty bread thats chewy on the inside, microbrew, wine and chocolate.

Helping my mom make california souffle on christmas eve. Its an egg casserole of my grandmas that has to be made 24 hours in advance. It has whole milk, lots of eggs, stale cubed bread, fat chunks of ham thats fried in butter and brown sugar, sauteed mushrooms, cheddar cheese, and a few other ingredients to give it its own special taste. Its the best ! Last year my sister and I waited until the last minute to run to the store- to find out all grocery stores were closed. So we ended up driving all over town to find ingredients- we ended up getting 2 lbs of fresh mushrooms from a Chinese buffet that was open.

Artichoke Spinach Lasagna
Good Stuff! I added mushrooms to the mix and used fresh spinach instead. I also did a layer of sliced kumato tomatoes, and I threw in some fresh chopped basil. I also did a layer of ricotta, but would skip that next time and do cottage cheese instead. It was a little too watery the first night, but the liquid soaked up the next day and I always think it tastes better the next day anyways. This was a hit even with serious carnivores. Will definitely make this again!
