Apple Enchiladas

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
This was something I made to use up some tortillas. We like this recipe but I think it was a little greasy for me and next time I'll cut the butter down to a 1/4 cup.

Hobo Beef and Vegetable Soup

Wonderful soup! I followed exactly but did add a little salt and pepper to the finished soup. Made homemade biscuits to serve with this and I will be making this again. Thanks KA187 for submitting this recipe.

Pat's Cream of Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
In spite of the bad directions this turned out GREAT! I fried the bacon in a Dutch oven then stirred the flower into the grease then added the onion and one rib of sliced celery and one grated carrot. Sauteed veggies for a short time then added the broth, instant potatoes and potatoes. I did mash about half of the potatoes before adding the half and half. The only seasoning I used was a little pepper. This was a keeper recipe and I'll be making it again. Thanks Pat!

Campbell's® Swiss Vegetable Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
Followed the recipe as written but used Monterey Jack cheese instead of Swiss because that is what I had on hand. Loved the flavor but think I will either add a little more sour cream or maybe a little milk as it was not creamy enough for me. I will make it again but will try it with a little changes. This recipe is a keeper and I will be trying it again for Thanksgiving.

Microwave Popcorn

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
Since I eat microwave popcorn about 4 or 5 nights a week I couldn't wait to try this recipe. I purchased 50 brown paper lunch bags that measured 5 1/8 X 3 1/8 X 10 5/8 inches. Last night I used the 1/2 cup as directed and it popped my bag so tonight I used 1/4 cup and it was perfect. I did as others suggested and sat the bag upright and stapled the top after folding over. I so appreciate getting this recipe as it not only saves money it's tasty! Can't wait to try other seasonings tomorrow night. Thank you ACONTORER for submitting this recipe.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

This is the best cream cole slaw I've ever tasted. Normally I like vinegar slaw but this is one cream cole slaw that I like to not only eat but to top on Sloppy Joe's.

One - Two - Three - Mexican Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: May 13, 2011
Made this last night to take to a pitch-in this evening and it was liked by all. I read each and every review and tweaked it just a little. Instead of 1 cup mayo I used 1/2 cup mayo and 1/2 cup Miracle Whip. Instead of 1 tsp garlic powder I used 1/2 tsp and I added 1/2 tsp chili powder. This makes a very large bowl of macaroni salad. I know I will be making this again and again. Thanks Joslyn for a wonderful recipe.

Hamburger Vegetable Soup

I don't usually rate a recipe if I change something but I used a rather large onion so I only added 1 package of onion soup mix. This was a very easy and good tasting soup. Thanks Marge for the recipe.

White Chili II

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2011
If there were more stars to rate this I would give it more. I follow everything except I use six cooked chicken breasts instead of four and I put it in my slow cooker for anywhere up to five hours or more. I also serve this with homemade sweet cornbread. Wonderful recipe Nancie.

Slow Cooker Beef Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
Pretty tasty soup but after seven hours the onions were still a little crunchy. I used a package of Lipton's Beefy Onion recipe soup & dip mix. Maybe next time I'll cook the soup in some of the liquid drained from the vegetables before I add it to the crock pot. I used a crock pot instead of a slow cooker so maybe that is why the onions didn't get soft.

Fluffy Biscuits

Looked beautiful; raised nicely and I followed the ingredients to the letter but something was missing. I will try this recipe one more time but maybe use butter instead of Crisco shortening.

Sloppy Joes II

I've made this twice now in two weeks and the first time I took some of the suggestions and cut back on the brown sugar but the second time I used the 3 teaspoons of brown sugar and it was perfect. This will be my recipe to use when making Sloppy Joes. Thank you Tamara!

Kielbasa with Pasta

We liked this very much. I took some of the suggestions from various reviewers and added a dash of Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes. To the finished dish I thought it needed a little salt and pepper. I will make this again.

Rich Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2010
LOVED this recipe and will for sure be making it again. I did take other suggestions in that I did not include the salt as there is enough in the soup, cheese, green beans and Cajun seasoning. I also used another suggestion by putting half of the French-fried onions in the bottom of the dish and sprinkled the rest on top. I doubled this recipe and baked it in a 9X13 glass dish for 25 minutes. Thank you HEATHERWIDNER for submitting this wonderful recipe; I now have a new recipe for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Yum!!!!!!!

Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2010
I've been making this for several years as it is almost the same as Patti LaBelle's Over-the-Rainbow Macaroni and Cheese. She appeared both on Oprah and Good Morning America and made this recipe. This recipe uses 1 1/2 cups half and half and Patti LaBelle's uses 2 cups half and half. It is without a doubt the BEST mac and cheese recipe you will ever make. Any where I take it I get asked for the recipe. Glad to see it posted here on allrecipes.com for all to try.

Pineapple Angel Food Cake I

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
I've been making this for many years. The recipe used to be on the side of an Angel Food Pillsbury cake mix box. The only difference was to NOT grease the 9X13 pan. Before baking put four equal size cans in a rectangel so that each can is at the corner of your 9X13 pan. After the cake is baked immediately turn the pan upside down on the four cans to cool. If you do not bake it long enough the cake will not only fall in the middle but fall out of the pan when turned upside down. I normally bake mine 30 minutes. I have also used this with fruit cocktail and diced peaches and cheeries. Very easy cake even a grandchild could make. Yummy!

Ken's Perfect Hard Boiled Egg (And I Mean Perfect)

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2010
Been hard boiling eggs for 40 years and this time they actually did come out PERFECT! I used a slotted spoon to lower the eggs into the boiling water and followed the recipe to the letter. I used fresh eggs and the shell came right off and the yellow was yellow and didn't have that ugly green around the egde. Thank you Ken ... now you can go back to sleep!

Devil's Food Peanut Butter Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
I've been making these cookies for close to twenty years when I frist saw the recipe in a newspaper article in Hints From Heloise. One difference was to use 1/2 cup of oil instead of the 2/3 cup shortening. I use all diifferent kinds of cake mixes and also different flavored chips but only about a cup instead of two cups. Sometimes I use nuts or crushed peppermints or M & M candies. The choices are endless with this recipe. But the Devil's Food Peanut Butter Chip cookie is one of the BEST!

Broccoli with Lemon Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
Had this for dinner this evening. What a nice change from plain cooked broccoli. This is a keeper and I will be making it again and again. Thanks for this recipe. Only thing I did different was used three tbs. of Real Lemon juice as I did not have any fresh lemons on hand.
