Inside-Out Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2014
Just finished making these and they were awesome. I don't own a non stick skillet so I smeared a tiny bit of olive oil (using a paper towel) onto my warmed stainless steel pan then melted the butter ... using only medium heat on my electric glass top stove. Followed the recipe exactly and they came out perfect. Having made grilled cheese sandwiches for the last 48 years - this recipe proves you CAN teach old dogs new tricks! Thanks Chef John for this recipe.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2013
Made these cookies this evening and the recipe is a keeper! Followed the directions and used the exact ingredients called for in the recipe. The only things I did different was ... I used parchment paper instead of greasing the cookie sheets and I baked the cookies 15 minutes instead of 8-10 minutes. I have three Pampered Chef cookie scoops and I used the middle one. This recipe says it will make 24 cookies but I got 38 cookies. Thank you Bittersweet1 for submitting this recipe. It's the best plain oatmeal cookie I've ever baked.

Baked Penne with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2013
Made this tonight for dinner and we liked it very much. I'm glad I read other reviews because after the sauce simmered for the 10 minutes I tasted it and it seamed very plain. I did take hints from other reviewers and added a little sugar, oregano, basil, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Maybe next time I make this I'll use hot Italian sausage instead of the sweet Italian sausage for even more flavor. All in all this recipe is a keeper and was very easy to put together. Thank you SADIEQQ for submitting this delightful, tasty recipe.

Hamburger Corn Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2013
Don't know if I'm missing something here but this was a very tasteless soup. I followed the recipe and after we tasted it I tried adding some basil and garlic like others suggested and it still just tasted very bland. It sounded so interesting and different from anything I've ever made before and all the reviews either gave it a 4 or or a 5 star rating so I thought I would give it a try. Won't be making it again. Sorry.

Wonderful Banana Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2012
Made this today and it was delicious. I added about a hand full of chopped pecans to the dry cake mix as others suggested. Had three over ripe bananas so used three instead of two. Also did not start in a cold oven I baked it in a preheated oven for about 40 minutes. This is moist enough not to use frosting. This is a keeper!

Taco Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2012
Made this today ... but the next time I will for sure only use about half of the sour cream and I will add a cup or more of salsa on top of the ground beef before adding the sour cream. This was an easy, tasty recipe and I will make it again with those two changes. I read where others added salsa and less sour cream but wanted to taste this as it was printed before making changes. I was not able to use the whole bag of crushed chips because it was way too much so only used about two thirds of the bag.

Apple Enchiladas

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
This was something I made to use up some tortillas. We like this recipe but I think it was a little greasy for me and next time I'll cut the butter down to a 1/4 cup.

Pat's Cream of Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
In spite of the bad directions this turned out GREAT! I fried the bacon in a Dutch oven then stirred the flower into the grease then added the onion and one rib of sliced celery and one grated carrot. Sauteed veggies for a short time then added the broth, instant potatoes and potatoes. I did mash about half of the potatoes before adding the half and half. The only seasoning I used was a little pepper. This was a keeper recipe and I'll be making it again. Thanks Pat!

Campbell's® Swiss Vegetable Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
Followed the recipe as written but used Monterey Jack cheese instead of Swiss because that is what I had on hand. Loved the flavor but think I will either add a little more sour cream or maybe a little milk as it was not creamy enough for me. I will make it again but will try it with a little changes. This recipe is a keeper and I will be trying it again for Thanksgiving.

Microwave Popcorn

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
Since I eat microwave popcorn about 4 or 5 nights a week I couldn't wait to try this recipe. I purchased 50 brown paper lunch bags that measured 5 1/8 X 3 1/8 X 10 5/8 inches. Last night I used the 1/2 cup as directed and it popped my bag so tonight I used 1/4 cup and it was perfect. I did as others suggested and sat the bag upright and stapled the top after folding over. I so appreciate getting this recipe as it not only saves money it's tasty! Can't wait to try other seasonings tomorrow night. Thank you ACONTORER for submitting this recipe.

This is the best cream cole slaw I've ever tasted. Normally I like vinegar slaw but this is one cream cole slaw that I like to not only eat but to top on Sloppy Joe's.

One - Two - Three - Mexican Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: May 13, 2011
Made this last night to take to a pitch-in this evening and it was liked by all. I read each and every review and tweaked it just a little. Instead of 1 cup mayo I used 1/2 cup mayo and 1/2 cup Miracle Whip. Instead of 1 tsp garlic powder I used 1/2 tsp and I added 1/2 tsp chili powder. This makes a very large bowl of macaroni salad. I know I will be making this again and again. Thanks Joslyn for a wonderful recipe.

Hamburger Vegetable Soup

I don't usually rate a recipe if I change something but I used a rather large onion so I only added 1 package of onion soup mix. This was a very easy and good tasting soup. Thanks Marge for the recipe.

Easy White Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2011
If there were more stars to rate this I would give it more. I follow everything except I use six cooked chicken breasts instead of four and I put it in my slow cooker for anywhere up to five hours or more. I also serve this with homemade sweet cornbread. Wonderful recipe Nancie.

Slow Cooker Beef Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
Have made this about six times now and the only changes I've made are to use a large 28oz can of plum tomatoes instead of crushed tomatoes. I drain all the vegetables (but not the tomatoes) and add one 14.5 oz. beef broth. The first time I made this the onions from the packaged soup mix were still hard so I don't put this into a slow cooker anymore I just heat on top of the stove for a few hours. I brown the stew meat throughly before adding all the canned vegetables. I cook about a half to three fourths cup of Kluski noodles, in salted water, then drain and add to the soup the last half hour of cooking. If I can find salt free or low sodium canned veggies/broth that is what I will use then add salt to taste. I've stopped making all the other vegetables soups because this one is the easiest and the best tasting soup by far. Thank you Judy G for submitting this tasty recipe.

Looked beautiful; raised nicely and I followed the ingredients to the letter but something was missing. I will try this recipe one more time but maybe use butter instead of Crisco shortening.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
I've made this twice now in two weeks and the first time I took some of the suggestions and cut back on the brown sugar but the second time I used the 3 teaspoons of brown sugar and it was perfect. This will be my recipe to use when making Sloppy Joes. Thank you Tamara!
