Spicy Orange Teriyaki Marinade

Reviewed: May 2, 2004
What an outrageous glaze and marinade this is! I marinated a pork tenderloin and then made a fresh batch of the recipe and cooked it on top of the stove for a glaze to pour over the top of the pork. All I can say is "OH MY GOODNESS"!!! I felt like a gourmet cook! This recipe is a nice touch. I did do a couple of things different. I used crushed pinapple which went nice with the chunks from the orange marmalade. I used fresh garlic instead of garlic powder. I marinated it with fresh ginger slices and used ground ginger when I cooked it on top of the stove. I even added a sprinkle of chinese 5 spice powder. I didn't have the chili paste so I used a sprinkle of hot pepper flakes and the other thing I changed was instead of chinese cooking wine (which I could not find) I used white wine. I just think the crushed pineapple added a nice texture to the glaze. GREAT RECIPE!!!! 5+ stars!

Chinese Barbequed Spareribs

Reviewed: May 2, 2004
I just made these ribs and everyone went wild! What a fantastic recipe. I didn't cook them on a broiler pan with the water. I put them single layer on a cookie sheet and baked them at 350 degrees on convection roast. I changed the foil on the cookie sheet and then basted them with some fresh marinade I made. Put them back in on convection roast for another 5 minutes and basted them one more time. I also sprinkled some sesame seeds on top. Finger licking good!! This recipe is a keeper. I also served it with the Vegetable Lo Mein recipe I got off of allrecipes.com. Great dinner!!!! Thanks!!!

Vegetable Lo Mein

Reviewed: May 2, 2004
This one is a keeper!!! I made this for the first time and took a chance because we had family over for dinner. I was nervous it wasn't going to turn out good but I have to say I WAS VERY IMPRESSED!!!!! Great recipe. The only thing I would change next time is I would buy Lo Mein noodles and not use spaghetti. Other than that this one is going in my recipe book!!!

Crisp Tortellini Bites

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2004
I was a little disappointed in these. I don't know why you need to dip them in milk and sour cream. I had to keep shaking off the excess and the tortellini were small and a pain in the neck. I also had a bag of ravioli which was a little easier to dip. Still the milk/sour cream was a nightmare and I think you could get the same results just using an egg bath. Didn't give it a different flavor. All in all they went! The dipping sauce was a great touch.

Sticks and Stones Candy Bark

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2004
Great treat! Made so much too! I just added some shredded coconut and some mini marshmellows to it. The kids went nuts over it but had to fight off the adults who were grabbing at it too! Good one for a big crowd!!!

Apple Strudel Dessert

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2004
I made this to bring as a dessert. I had so many refrigerator crescent rolls on hand. I saw this recipe and tried it. I did make my own apple filling. Chopped up 4 granny smith apples and added some brown sugar, butter and cinnamon. Cooked on top of the stove until tender. Drained the liquid and did as directed. I added a nice touch. With the liquid I drained I made a powdered sugar glaze to put on top when it cooled. Everyone loved it. Great recipe!!!!

Spaghetti Pie III

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2001
This recipe sounded great. But when I baked it for the family they said it tasted more like a dip than spaghetti. I thought the sour cream and cream cheese would have melted more. It came out a little dry. I followed the directions. The sour cream and cream cheese and chives really gave it more of a "dip" taste than a meal taste. I don't think I will be making this again. Sorry :(
