Really great recipe, have made it several times with all the kale we get in our CSA. I never thought I would enjoy raw kale so much! I usually halve the recipe using kale OR cabbage and use equal amounts of oil and vinegar. It's also fun swapping in new ingredients to try. The flavors are just fantastic. I've found that massaging the dressing by hand into the salad is important in spreading the flavor around. I've never had time to marinate it -- I bet it would be even better if I did!

Zucchini Apple Bread

Really great recipe, and great use for all my zucchini/summer squash and apple! I made the changes I usually make to baked recipes (ww flour, less sugar, applesauce for part of oil, twice as much spice), and my amounts of zucchini/summer squash and apple weren't exactly the same, and it held up great. Moist, slightly sweet, rich... I'm sure it's wonderful exactly as is, and I can tell you that it's fantastic to play around with too!

Easy Spicy Ketchup Dip for Sweet Potato Fries

Wonderful stuff! I felt obligated to give four stars out of five because I made a couple changes. For starters, I just roughly eyeballed the amounts. For another thing, I had no horseradish and used my beloved Asian chili garlic hot sauce instead. I also added chili powder for some non-hot spice. This is JUST what I was looking for to whip up with my sweet potato fries -- nothing too complicated but with definite character. Will make again and play around with proportions/ingredients!

London Broil II

This was WONDERFUL! I'm finishing it up now, and it's definitely on the list as my go-to steak marinade. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because I made some changes, namely: more garlic, I substituted half of the soy sauce for Worcetshire (close enough) sauce, and I used balsamic vinegar instead of ketchup (for acid with still a touch of sweetness). I didn't have an outdoor grill, so I used my cast-iron grill after marinating for probably 18 hours. Delicious!!

Sweet Potatoes with Sausage and Peppers

I was looking for something hearty and nutritious, and this easy "throw it all in" recipe surpassed my expectations for something so simple. The flavors worked together really well. I didn't have salsa, so I just used diced tomatoes and added chile powder and paprika to enhance the Mexican flavor of the dish. Colorful, delicious, satisfying, and easy. What else could you ask for??

Green Pea Pesto

What a wonderful way to make pesto! The peas really add body to the sauce without the need for a lot of oil. I love peas and I love pesto; this is a great combination of the two. The recipe is wonderful as listed (perhaps with some salt), but I also look forward to experimenting with it: more lemon, more herbs, a little heat.

Chicken with Tomatillos and Poblanos

This recipe was absolutely fantastic and easy to make. There are a few steps, but they're really simple to follow. The dish came out wonderfully smoky and piquant without being overpoweringly hot. I served it over white rice, which soaked up the sauce nicely. I roasted all the peppers and the tomatillos, which I think added a nice flavor, but it was very difficult to remove the skins from the bell peppers, and I didn't notice anything strange in the taste or texture because I did so. This recipe is very nicely flexible; I couldn't find Anaheim chile peppers and used jalapenos instead, used two of both of those and two small bell peppers. I also accidentally used half the onion, garlic, and chicken because I only sporadically remembered that I was cutting it down. The combination of flavors here is really magical, and I'm not sure you can go too seriously wrong without trying!
