About this Cook
My dabbeling in the kitchen is just that, for fun and enjoyment. I've been told I have a talent for cooking but had no idea since my family doesn't have much culinary flare. So I figure this is a nice place to start.
My favorite things to cook
Buttery garlic shrimp, mainly because it's my husband's favorite. And pies, I mean who doesn't love pie?! haha
My favorite family cooking traditions
Even though my mother isn't much of a cook, she has a great spaghetti pie recipe that I love!
My cooking triumphs
So far, I think I'm most proud of the fact that my 2 month old daughter loves to watch me cook. Hopefully she'll take after me, but learn how to cook much earlier than I did.
My cooking tragedies
For some reason I have very little knack for cookies. They are so simple but I'd rather make pastries or brownies.

Best Moist Chocolate Cake
It's very good, but not moist enough to put it in the title. Cakes with sour cream have tasted better to me.

Angel Food Cake I
My mother in law loves Angel food cake so I decided to make her one from scratch. This recipe was great, but it's not something I'd make very often, too many egg yolks. haha

Simple White Cake
It's good for a quick and simple cake, but it does seem to be missing something.
