Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
I've made this cheesecake twice and it is amazing! The only changes I made were of a personal preference...i added about a 1/4 C of sugar to the graham cracker crumbs. Also, the second time around I made a chocolate marble cheesecake. My family of 4 polished them off w/i 24 hours...lol. Also, let me say that if you follow the recipe and use the water bath, let the cheesecake cool the full 5-6 hours and then refridgerate...there should be no cracks. If you follow the recipe, you'll end up with a perfect cheesecake. If you don't end up with a perfect result....YOU DID SOMETHING WRONG!!! Don't blame the recipe and give it a poor rating, if you don't use the water bath or altar the recipe drastically. It's unfair to blame the recipe writer because you can't follow simple directions. Thanks Chantal for a truly amazing cheesecake recipe.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2010
Amazing! I pretty much followed this recipe exactly except I didn't have celery seed and I used leftover roast chicken(white meat). I also tossed in some leftover roasted potatoes and I made my own crusts. My very picky daughter even ate this and she hates anything with meat/poultry. This is definitely something I will make again and again! Thanks so much!

Easy Apple Cinnamon Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
A pretty good recipe but it does need some tweaking. I did cut down on the sugar because apples are natually sweet. They didn't need 3/4 of a cup especially if you plan on using the topping(I did not). I also added a splash more milk and I was a litle disappointed that the recipe isn't clear about how much apple is needed....2 apples is vague. I also doubled the cinnamon, added a pinch of nutmeg and allspice for a spicier muffin. Overall, pretty good, but use your own tastes to modify the recipe.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2007
This is an awesome recipe!!! I was a bit skeptical, it was so simple and I'm not a fan of cream of mushroom soup, but it was fantastic. My very, very picky 7 y/o daughter gobbled it right up. That right there, makes it a keeper!!! Thanks so much for this easy, delicious recipe! My only suggestion would be to add an onion or two.

Easy Sour Cream Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2007
Now this is what cheesecake is supposed to taste like! This was awesome! I used a 9 inch graham cracker crust but there was a tad too much batter for the crust. I cooked it in a water bath for 80 minutes and it came out flawless. Thanks for the great recipe!!!

Daniel's Favorite Cheesecake

This cheesecake was just ok. The flavor was good, but the texture was odd...and just not right when it comes to cheesecake. It was an easy enough recipe though.

Easy Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2007
Wonderful recipe! I used butter instead of shortening only bcs I didn't have any. I also took the advice of others and replaced some white sugar with brown sugar. I also added some cinnamon and nutmeg. I think I'll add some raisins and nuts next time also. This is definitely a recipe I will use over and over again!!! Thanks so much for this recipe!!!

Butter Cream Frosting II

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2005
I had to make cupcakes for my daughters class and I used this frosting. The kids loved them! Heck I loved them...lol. It was really easy and tasty. Taking pity on my daughter's teacher, I did decrease the sugar to about 3½ Cups(25 kids on a sugar high is my idea of torture). I also used all butter which came out a little heavier than I would have liked, this is probably why the recipe calls for margarine and shortening. I'll have to try it that way, as well. Thanks for a great recipe!

Taste of Home's Creamy Coleslaw

Very good recipe, definitely easy to make. I didn't have any sour cream, so I increased the mayo to 1 Cup. I think I'll try this again with the sour cream.

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2003
Okay recipe, nothing special and only somewhat like Red lobster's. Definitely need more cheddar cheese in this recipe, you really couldn't taste the cheese at all. I followed the directions precisely, but I can't see why anyone would rave about these rather tasteless biscuits. Wouldn't bother with this one.

No Roll Sugar Cookies

Excellent recipe!!! Everyone loves these cookies. I did omit the cream of tatar, simply because I didn't have any. I have tried this recipe with both butter and margarine, and butter makes a much tastier cookie. :-) Thanks, Jan!!!
