Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: May 18, 2011
Excellent flavour. Much better than store bought. I only gave it 4 stars because I found it to be a little salty. I made it as is, then with half the salt and a 3rd time with no salt, it was even better without the salt...but everyone has different tollerances to salt...if you are used to a diet with very little salt then this recipe doesn't need it...but if you are used to alot of salt in your diet or have diminished taste buds, you might like the salt.

Southern Turnip Supreme

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2011
I have never tried turnip before, but this recipe looked good...was very disappointed. It was very bitter and no one would eat it.

Chicken With Mushrooms

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
I have been making this recipes for years, long before I found it on this site. The chicken turns out incrediby juicy and tender. The only thing I do different is dip the chicken in flour (seasoned with garlic powder, paprika and pepper) then dip into the egg, then dip it into the SEASONED bread crumbs. I always season the bread crumbs myself with thyme, savory and a little bit of parmesean cheese. If you think this recipe is a little bland, try the changes I suggested above instead of adding processed, high sodium canned soup.

Roasted Beets 'n' Sweets

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
Too much onion flavour. The sweet potatoes tasted more like onions than sweet potatoes and if you like onions that would be fine, but my husband and I are not real onion likers. I tired this a second time without the onions, used a little chives instead and it was fabulous.

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2010
This is a fantastic recipe! I've made it several times and it's always delicious. I add a few cloves of garlic to the marinade and always use a GOOD quality balsamic, it makes a huge difference. My favorite is President's Choice black label (pricey but delicious).

Honey Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2010
Very yummy! I used all whole wheat flour (sifted) and did not have 7 grain cereal so I used 1/4 cup of oats, 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds and a 1/4 cup of flax seeds (ground). It turned out to be a very healthy, hearty and flavorful bread.

Onion, Garlic, Cheese Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2010
To make this a little healthier I substituted 2 cups of whole wheat flour (sifted) with 1 cup of white flour and it was incredibly light and fluffy. The key is to sift the whole wheat flour. I also omitted the dried onion sprinkled on top and sprinkled shredded cheddar cheese instead...it was the best bread I've had in a long time.

Whole Wheat Carrot-Raisin Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
Added 1/3 cup of apple sauce in as well because I thought the batter looked a little dry. I also doubled the pumpkin pie spice and vanilla. They turned out wonderfully. Cooked for 17 min.
