I did not change any ingredients, but I did roughly triple the recipe, leaving the amount of cheese at about 2 cups, and the butter/flour at 6T/half cup respectively. Both times I have made this it has turned out fantastic. It's better with homemade broth vs canned (obviously) and real butter, and I'm sure would be great fully loaded (full amounts of cheese and butter), which I will do for company.
After adding the flour/milk mixture, immediatley after it started to boil I added cheese and transfered to crockpot (I hate that grainy, curtled milk texture) to keep warm. Added sour cream just a bit before serving.
Thanks for a recipe that all seven members of my family enjoy! Oh...a little bacon garnish is nice, too.
