My favorite family cooking traditions
"Hunkie Soup" is a long time family favorite and probably my best dish. Everytime I make it it transports me to my grandma's kitchen.

My cooking tragedies
Cooked a whole hog, tried to get it to 190 degrees, battery operated thermometer failed and we didn't realize it at the time and we ended up nuking the poor piggy. Moral... never use cheap thermometers.
