Slow Cooker Chicken Creole

This recipe was excellent. I will definately be making it again. I took the advice of others and added more spices. I added tobassco, red pepper flakes, cayanne and extra garlic because I love garlic. I prepared everything the night before and threw it all together before I left for work. The apartment smelled so good when I got home.

Artichoke and Chickpea Stew

Very flavorful, I agree with the others it is more of a soup than a stew. I will definately make again. It was so easy. I couldn't find fresh sage at the store so used basil instead. I took the hint of others and added some orzo but not too much cause I didn't want the orzo so that it wouldn't be too overpowering. I also had some mushrooms that I had to use up so I threw them in the soup as well.

Real Hummus

Excellent. Absolutely excellent. I didn't realize how easy it is to make Hummus also a ton cheaper to make it yourself. I will make homemade Hummus from now on. I didn't follow the instructions exactly, I was just looking for base recipe and I basically eyeballed and tasted while I was making and it turned out great.

Green Salad with Cranberry Vinaigrette

Love this salad. It is very refreshing, especially with how heavy the rest of Thanksgiving Dinner is. Instead of Blue Cheese I used Crumbled Goat Cheese and I also added Jicima to the salad which added a little sweetness. Didn't change a thing about the dressing, it is fabulous.

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

Absolutely excellent. I made 5 dozen of these for a cookie exchange at work. I used Madagascar Vanilla instead of Brandy, it costs a little more but well worth it. It makes all the difference when making cookies. Madagascar Vanilla can be found at William-Sonoma or at Cost Plus Imports. I have lots of ingrediants left over to make more in the next few weeks.

Toasted Garlic Bread

Oh my god, this was so good. My boyfriend insisted that I save the recipe. I think this was all we ate for dinner, we just couldn't stop eating it. This will definately be a regular on our menu.

Pumpkin Bars I

These were very good. Again, I did the same thing. I didn't have a jellyroll pan so I used a 9x13 pan and it turned out more cake like but still very good. There is some kind of flavor missing from the actual pumpkin bars, I might try again and add some other kind of spices.

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

I made this recipe but I improvised just a little as well. I followed the suggestion of adding cumin, I also added some oregano, onion flakes, salt and pepper and som red pepper flakes. It was wonderful. I unfortunately made it a little too spicy for the child so we just put a little sour cream in his bowl to take away the spiciness.

Creamy Banana Bread

I don't care for nuts so I skipped that part of the recipe, instead I added the cinnamon to the batter and I added my own little twist and added some oranged rind to the batter also. Will make time and time again, it's so easy.

Yummy Quiche

I use this as my base recipe, it is so easy and the whole family loves it. I will either add asparagus spears or brocolli and ham. The posibilities are endless.

Baked Beef Stew

Excellent recipe. I added some Oregano and Cayanne Pepper for a little extra flavoring. I could have used a little less red pepper because our child was not able to eat it from being too spicy.

Jamaican Jerk Chicken

This recipe was very easy and very good. To give it some added flavor I made a Mango Relish to put on top of it. I will post the recipe soon. My boyfriend absolutely loved. Definately a recipe to make when the kids are away.

Laura's Quick Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

This was a good base recipe. I don't eat meat but during certain times of the year there are comfort foods I enjoy. I used Morningstar Vegetarian crumble, which can be found in the frozen food section. I aslo for some reason didn't have a lot of the spices on hand so I added a can of diced green chiles to add flavor. The other thing is I used a can of diced tomatoes in addition to the can of tomato soup.

Laurie's Tequila Marinade

I don't eat meat but other people in my family do so I thought I give this a try. I added a few things of my own and made some substitutions because I didn't have all ingredients. Since Cinco was just a few days ago, I had some limes lying around so I thought I add some lime juice (with Tequila, how could you not add lime)and I also added minced garlic. I didn't have a jalepeno so I used dried red pepper flakes to give it some spice. The family seemed to enjoy it, so I'll like make it again but next time with a jalepeno to see how it'll taste different.

Chicken and Green Chili Enchiladas

This was such an easy recipe. One we are definately going to mark as a regular for our family. I used the chicken that was leftover from a Rotisserie from the night before. I added frozen corn to the mixture. I also added some cayenne pepper, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder to give the enchilada a little bit of kick.

Clark's Quiche

The flavoring was very good. I would however cut back on some of the cheese, I don't feel it is very neccessary to have as much as the recipe called for. Also, I don't it need both the bacon and the ham, I would suggest having one or the other. I used green onions instead of regular onions and used a few dashes of cayanne pepper to add an extra zing. I again would suggest cutting back on a few ingredients because I ended up making a total mess of my oven. The quiches ended up overflowing. I admit I did like this recipe and I will make it again but I will modify to more of my liking. It was also very easy to make and my boyfriend and his 10 year old son absolutely loved it. His son was giving my hugs and kisses for making it.

Blissful Brownies

These were okay. I probably won't make them again. They had more of cake like texture and I was really hoping for brownies. Also, since I was making these to take to work and not a lot of people don't like nuts. I didn't mix the nuts into the batter but instead only sprinkled the nuts on half of the batter once it was in the pan. That way the people who like nuts can have nuts and the ones who don't were still able to share in the enjoyment without the nuts.

Baked Goat Cheese

I had a baked goat cheese at one of my local restaurants that I was trying to recreat and this didn't even compare. I am going to have to go back to the restaurant to see exactly the ingredients they used. I found this recipe to be a little dry and maybe I could have used a little more olive oil and figure out what other ingredients to add to give it more flavor.
