Peanut Butter Cookies VI

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2003
Great, EASY recipe. I followed the advice of many reviewers and used 1 cup of peanut butter instead. My boyfriend has never raved so much about anything. This one's a keeper!

Grandma's Moist Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2003
Very rich, moist, and buttery. I beat the butter and sugar together for a good 5 minutes and whipped the egg whites separately before folding them in. I also added a dash of salt and baking powder to the flour. The resulting cake was wonderful with or without frosting. A good, basic recipe. I'm by no means an experienced baker, but I was very pleased with the results. I'm keeping this one! One note of caution - the cake comes out on the heavy side. It is not light and fluffy like the boxed mixes. If you appreciate a thicker, more pound-cake like texture, then you will love it.

Buttermilk Biscuits I

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2003
The texture was ok, but I found the taste to be very bland. Not what I was hoping for at all.

Brown Sugar Banana Nut Bread I

Reviewed: May 4, 2004
This is my first banana nut bread and it came out fantastic! I hardly ever make cakes or breads from scratch because it is usually easier to buy a boxed mix, but boy am I glad I tried this one. So simple and so good! I'll be making this very often. Thanks for the recipe.

Quick Yeast Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2005
Perfectly perfect. No changes at all. I am a novice bread maker and these are my first yeast rolls. I followed the recipe exactly and they are AMAZING. They got rave reviews from my hubby who isn't easily impressed. Luckily they are super easy to make - practically foolproof! - because it looks like I will be making them often. I can't tell you how well they hold up the next day because I was so impressed that I had to come write this review asap. But even if they taste terrible tomorrow I still give this recipe a 5 star for how great they are right out of the oven. Thanks!

Cream of Mushroom Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2005
Simple and satisfying. I'm making this again, so it's a keeper in my book. And I'm not even a real fan of mushrooms.

Shabbat Challah

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2005
This is by far the best challah bread that I've made so far. Unfortunately for me, it was not quite as sweet and eggy as the challah from my childhood that I'm desperately trying to recreate. Maybe if I add a little more sugar/honey and another egg it will be perfect. It was quite good however, and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
Wow! I'm impressed with myself. This turned out really good. A big "Thank You" to the reviewer who informed me that this needed to be sliced thin. I had no idea to do that and it really made a big difference. I left out the cayenne pepper but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. (Well, I did cook it medium-well, but that's personal preference.) I didn't think it was too salty at all. Anyway, this is going in the recipe box. It's a keeper!
