Cowpoke Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2012
My picky husband and I loved this recipe and he said "it's a keeper!" Served it as a side dish to bbq'd pork ribs. After some taste samplings, I added about a palm full (roughly 1 tablespoon) of brown sugar and about 1/2 cup Masterpiece Barbeque Sauce. Those seemed to be the "missing ingredients" of this bean dish, and it tastes even better the next day.

Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2012
Absolutely awesome! Reminds me of the dressing served with muffuletta sandwiches from one of my favorite restaurants in Shreveport, LA. Have made 2 small batches of this wonderful dressing and am sure will be making more! Kudos, Danielle M.!

Pigs in a Blanket

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2012
This is the only way I've ever been able to eat hot dogs. Little smoky links are great prepared this way, too, as an appetizer (or brats cut into bite-sized pieces).

Classic Goulash

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
My late mother made something similar to this many times when I was growing up, except she called it "Lob Lolly." She didn't use garlic cloves, but powder. She definitely would use bell pepper in the cooking process and sometimes a stalk or 2 of celery. She'd serve it with "something green" on the side and sometimes brown and serve rolls. Simple dish, but very filling and satisfying!

Grandma's Doughnuts

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2011
I used to make these when my children were little (some 30 odd years ago!). All 3 boys loved them as they were a special treat and they got to help make various toppings.

Reuben Sandwich II

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2011
Have always loved Reubens, but learned a little "secret" many years ago from a chef while attending Food/Beverage management courses: 1. Use French dressing rather than the traditional Thousand Island. Different flavor altogether. 2. Drain and wash sauerkraut, and press with paper towel to dry before assembling sandwich. 3. Brown both sides of bread so sandwich is not soggy. Just these few little changes make a lot of difference!

My family went gaga over this! While they usually question some of my concoctions, they said this is a keeper! Thanks, Brenda, for an amazingly easy and delicious recipe!
