Lisa's Favorite Carne Asada Marinade

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2012
This was my first time making carne asada for the whole family and I have to say it came out delicious. It came out so good that I have now become in charge of the meat for future gatherings. I call it my secret recipe. Little do they know I got it from All recipes. YUMMY!

Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2012
Waaaay too much nutmeg. I gave it two stars for how easy they were to make and for the concept. However, I tasted more of the nutmeg than any of the other flavors. I'm going to take the advice of others and decrease the nutmeg.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
I really liked the flavor that this had. I also added a bit more pepper flakes to give a kick and used Turkey sweet Italian sausage. I couldn't find any plum tomatoes, so I used 2 (14oz) cans of Italian herb diced tomatoes. It was overall easy to make and I'm curious to see about using 1/2 and 1/2 next time to make it more calorie friendly. The liquid didn't quite simmer down or thicken as much as I would like. So, I added a bit of flour to make it thicker and once I added the pasta it was perfect. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the orangish color it had. Not very appetizing in look, but in flavor it was pretty good.

German Baby

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2011
I loved that this recipe was so easy to make and didn't require a whole lot of ingredients. I didn't have a cast iron skillet that had high sides, so I used my 9" metallic round cake pan. It worked out just as good. I forgot to add the powdered sugar before I submitted my pic. Otherwise I did that and added vanilla, cinnamon along w/warming the eggs and milk too. Unfortunately, I forgot to cut up lemon wedges. However, the hubby ate it anyway. This is for sure something I will continue to make for us and future guests.

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
I never thought I can make refried beans and this recipe made it possible for me. I would've given it more stars if it wasn't sooooo salty. We only used 3 teaspoons of salt and it was still pretty salty. So, I think I'm going to try for just 2 tsps and I've also heard adding milk makes them creamier.

Spicy Tortilla Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
Not a hit at my party for Thanksgiving. The flavor was good, but I guess I was hoping for a more substantial roll. I also added 1 more package of cream cheese since I had 10 tortillas to do. Otherwise, the spread would be very thin on them thus making the roll up smaller. They were so small in general once I rolled them up in the tortilla. I wish I can find the recipe for Costco's Hye roll-ups. Those are delish! Sorry, I'm going to look for another roll-up recipe for next time.

Strawberries and Cream Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
Another cake that I guinea pigged people at work with. It was a huge hit and the biggest compliment is coming home with an empty cake plate. The only thing I can say was that the frosting was very sweet. Someone even thought it was store bought :( So, I think next time I'm going to add less powdered sugar. Other than that, 4 stars!!
