Boston Creme pie from scratch. Difficult to make, but oh sooooo worth it.
My cooking tragedies
I thought I can make fettucine alfredo from scratch. The recipe asked for Ham. Why ? I'm really not sure and being a novice cook at the time I bought sandwich meat ham. It was the most disgusting dish and tasted gross. The hubby did his best by attempting a 2nd bite, but I stopped him. I called it. It was a pizza night.

Lisa's Favorite Carne Asada Marinade
This was my first time making carne asada for the whole family and I have to say it came out delicious. It came out so good that I have now become in charge of the meat for future gatherings. I call it my secret recipe. Little do they know I got it from All recipes. YUMMY!

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream
I really liked the flavor that this had. I also added a bit more pepper flakes to give a kick and used Turkey sweet Italian sausage. I couldn't find any plum tomatoes, so I used 2 (14oz) cans of Italian herb diced tomatoes. It was overall easy to make and I'm curious to see about using 1/2 and 1/2 next time to make it more calorie friendly. The liquid didn't quite simmer down or thicken as much as I would like. So, I added a bit of flour to make it thicker and once I added the pasta it was perfect. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the orangish color it had. Not very appetizing in look, but in flavor it was pretty good.

I loved that this recipe was so easy to make and didn't require a whole lot of ingredients. I didn't have a cast iron skillet that had high sides, so I used my 9" metallic round cake pan. It worked out just as good. I forgot to add the powdered sugar before I submitted my pic. Otherwise I did that and added vanilla, cinnamon along w/warming the eggs and milk too. Unfortunately, I forgot to cut up lemon wedges. However, the hubby ate it anyway. This is for sure something I will continue to make for us and future guests.
