Great recipe. A bit too moist and a bit too sweet - otherwise yummy.

Autumn Beef Stew

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
This is a fabulous recipe! We just loved this stew. It just needs quite a bit more liquid than the recipe calls for. I added about 3 additional cups of water with salt and seasonings.

Whole Wheat Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2010
Fantastic! I used 1 c. whole wheat, 1 c. white and 1 c. oat flour and added some raisins. I can't believe how good this bread is! It's not too sweet the way a lot of these types of bread are.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2010
I used fresh diced garlic, added some canned diced tomatos and reduced the ketchup. My kid liked it, I expected more somehow.

Chicken Curry Party Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2010
It's missing something - I'm not sure what. I expected something with bolder flavors. I added more curry but that did not do it.

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2012
Very good recipe. As others have said it is dense and moist. It is a little more like cake than the cornbread I'm used to. I added a can of corn and reduced the milk accordingly. I followed the suggestions and did beat the batter for quite a while and I also added a couple of teaspoons of baking soda. I made a double batch and made it in bread loaf pans; it needed longer baking so after 30 minutes I covered the loaves with foil and baked at 350 degrees for another 10 minutes.
