We loved it and the only change I made was adding a teaspoon of vanilla.

Crawfish and Corn Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2013
This recipe is awesome. After a crawfish boil this weekend my boyfriend wanted a stew but i wanted something different so I made his stew and I also tried this. It was amazing! I did not add any seasoning because my crawfish were already highly seasoned and it was just perfect. My boyfriend works nights and he just texted saying how it tasted so good its better than restaurant quality! I will make this again and it was so easy to make. I had some half and half and some pet milk so I used that in the place of milk. I brought some for lunch and cant wait til 12 oclock gets here!

Going to try this I usually brown my ground beef with some onions and garlic and add brown gravy mix but I never thought of using onion soup mix.

La Genovese

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
I make a similar dish to this and serve it over rice. I usually add a pack of brown gravy mix to mine and sometimes I put in some petite pois (small peas). I was wanting to cook this dish tonight so I was looking for a different variation of it. I think I will try this with some chicken broth instead of wine.

Aunt Anne's Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2011
Aunt Anne's Coffee Cake is actually from an old McCalls recipe card and it is delicious. I always make this because the ingredients are things I always have on hand. My kids love it and are constantly asking me to make it on the weekends.

Basil Chicken over Angel Hair

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
I got this recipe out of my great american recipes cookbook and we love it. Sometimes I add a can of tomato sauce to make it more saucy. I always use can tomatoes and it comes out great. I also use bottled basil if there is no fresh one available. This recipe does not disappoint. One of my favorites. Oh and I always add a can of Rotel for spice.

Savory Glazed Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
These were delicious. I did however find that the smell in my crockpot when it first started cooking was unpleasant and I was afraid to try them but the smell improves as it cooks. The reason I give only 4 stars is because I think they have too much bread crumbs. Next time I will cut back on the bread crumbs.

This cake is awesome and I got rave reviews about it. The only thing I did was use chocolate cake mix instead of yellow. Next time I will try it with yellow cake.

Southern Fried Cabbage

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
I used this recipe as a guide since I only cook cabbage at this time of year when family members usually give me fresh cabbage. I did not use the extra oil and I too put the bacon in when the cabbage was almost done. In my bacon grease I sauteed the onions but also added some bell pepper and celery and a little garlice. This dish is also good when you use salt meat and smoked sausage instead of bacon but the bacon version is my favorite.

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2010
Just tried this last night and it was very good. I only had two cans of chicken broth and had bone in chicken breast. I took the skin off the chicken and boiled them with salt onions and celery and used that for my broth with my two cans. I also used regular thin spaghetti because I do not like egg noodles. It was very tasty and I brought some with me for lunch and gave some to my mom she said it was delicious. I am freezing some for a cold day.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2010
OMG I just tried this last night because I had read all the rave reviews and it was delicious. I love Manwich but this is way better. I do not think I will ever buy another can of that stuff again. Also the recipe is really easy to remember and easy to make. I did cut the ketchup to 1/2 cup and added some Worcestershire sauce also added 1/2 cup water. I will make this often.
