I am from a large family so I especially enjoy recipes that are delicious, healthy and where the quantities can be increased easily. I just had a fabulous kitchen renovation done so, right now, I'm happy to spend a lot of time on this site, in cooking classes and especially in my kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
Breakfast: Crepes, scones, omelets, pancakes/waffles with fruit salad
Lunch: Still working on this area especially when it comes to making packed lunches for school.
Dinner: Italian is the favorite using fresh ingredients, but I like to explore all foods made in the authentic way. Dishes that use a lot of vegetables, fruits, healthy grains and lower meat portions are what I'm after most.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Canadian Thanksgiving spent with all forty family members at a cottage resort. We gather for turkey dinner feast where everyone brings their specialty accompanied by dessert spectacular. Day 2 dinner is potluck where everyone brings a favorite dish. This year it was mostly Italian. Mmmmm!
My cooking triumphs
I cooked an Italian feast for my family based on a cooking class I took in Toronto with Maplehern. Having grown up in little Italy in the city, I finally found that real authentic Italian taste that I remembered the Nonas cooking. What a hit!
My cooking tragedies
Numerous my family would say. Because I subscribe to this website which I use pretty much daily, I am always trying new things. With every great dish, you are going to have a flop here and there that despite the 4-5 star ratings, the family just doesn't like it. Having said that, they are just loving most of the recipes I am coming up with.
