Waffles I

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2013
ATTN ALLRECIPES EDITORS: If you insist upon editing reviews, edit them correctly. The beginning of my review dated 1/6/13 was changed from "There is no point..." to "In my opinion HERE is no point..." Please fix your error or remove my review as I have excellent grammar and do not wish to have my name attached to a poorly worded review. Also, your edit detracts from the information I intended to convey and is redundant, i.e., reviews are opinions.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2012
My mom and I both made this last Thanksgiving and had the same results: OK flavor but NOT a time saver! You have to stir it every half hour or so, and you'll check it much more often than that. We both decided it was done [different slow cookers and elevations] at 6 hours which may help those who would like a tighter window than "4-8 hours" when planning their cooking timeline. Regular stuffing/dressing cooked in a casserole dish just goes into the oven, and out again in under an hour. A slow cooker cannot produce the evenly crispy brown loveliness on top and solid warmth throughout you get from baking dressing in the oven; some parts charred, some parts were a little gooey, despite our attentive babysitting.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2011
I followed the recipe exactly and the cookies turned out great. I did not use half shortening or half brown sugar as many reviews advised and had no problem with the cookies flattening or getting stale quickly. In fact, I forgot to cover the cookies overnight and they were still soft the next morning. I did use 1 cup white chocolate chips and 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips to add a little contrast, but I think all semi-sweet would taste better. Trust the recipe as written!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
These were rated "The Best Pancakes Ever!" by my 6 year old. The kid has eaten a lot of pancakes so that's really saying something. I made the recipe exactly but after letting it stand for 10 min it had thickened up ridiculously. Added about 1/2 cup extra milk and did not let stand again. They were almost perfect--I bet if I add the extra milk the first time (without stirring last minute) they will be even more tender. Amazing buttery taste. Yes, fairly salty, but in a good way. I may halve the salt next time just for health's sake. Not sure how big others want their pancakes--I doubled the recipe after reading several reviews noting that recipe made a small batch--not true: the double batch made about 25 5-inch pancakes.

Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: May 20, 2010
Fantastic cookie, and somewhat healthy thanks to the fiber in rolled oats & cocoa powder. I did substitute butter for margarine and I left out the cinnamon. They're messy for kids to eat thanks to the gooey chocolate chips--will leave them out next time (the chocolate chips, not the kids).

Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: May 19, 2010
Note: two 14 oz cans sweetened condensed milk do not measure 3 cups (more like 2 1/3) but just two cans do work for this recipe. Made one batch in a 13x9 dish--just thick enough; double the recipe if you want the height of a traditional pie using 13x9. Got lots of requests for this recipe after serving it to a group of ladies. My first time making key lime pie; Key Lime Pie VII rates signature status in the recipe file.
