Lemon Lover's Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2007
This is a VERY moist lemon cake, loved it!!!! I did make a different glaze though, as this cake would be out on the counter and sour cream must be refrigerated. I mixed 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of grated lemon peel, and 1 1/2 cups of conf. sugar.

Rhubarb Custard Pie II

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2007
I've had alot of rhubarb pie since childhood, and thought to try something different. The vanilla overpowered the rhubarb in my opinion. The texture was great....i would omit vanilla next time.

Fruitcake

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2001
I love this fruitcake! Very filling, very spicy. I don't think it will last long enough to age. I didn't put in the lemon rind though. I am so thrilled to have this recipe. I've made this cake and have given it out for Christmas for the last few years. I do age it in powdered sugar. To age it this way: first, soak it real good with your favorite spirits. Second, place it in a tin that can be made airtight. Then, fill tin up with powdered sugar. Let it age at least one full month. Leave sugar in with the cake. Also, another way to age the cake is to wrap it in soaked cheese cloth and place in tin.

Rhubarb Upside Down Cake I

Reviewed: May 31, 2006
This was a great recipe...for those of us who like rhubarb without the fake flavors of jello. Didn't use the box mix though, instead i used a scratch recipe for butter cake. Cooked down the rhubarb first, as my pan wasn't deep enough for all the stuff.

Stuffed Pork Chops with Gorgonzola and Apple

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
This recipe ROCKS!!!!!! I will make again, but will cut the tyme in half. I used the suggestion of another reviewer by soaking the chops in a brine...that was good advice:) The sauce didn't really get brown, but it was divine. Many thanks!!!!

The nut crusted chicken was wonderful. The sauce was some work, and was a bit too bland.

Apple Raisin French Toast Strata

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2007
This is a keeper! I used evaporated milk instead of half and half. It is essential to let dish rest 10 min. before serving; otherwise, you get mush. I also added more apple.

Cherry Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2004
This cake is the best!! I've made it several times and it is always a hit. I do bake it in a bundt and top it with a chocolate glaze. Also, I place mini chocolate chips in the batter....about 1/2-1 cup.

fabulous! fabulous! fabulous! Everyone loved this recipe. I used oreo cookie crumbs minus the white stuff. And, for a sauce I used some homemade raspberry jam(strained seeds from) heated in the microwave. Yum. Yum.

Aunt Edith's Baked Pancake

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2007
Aunt Edith knows her pancakes!!!! I fried sausage links, then sauteed them with apple, cherries, and a little green onion. Topped the pancake with above mix and a little maple syrup. Good stuff. I'll probably only use half the salt next time.
