My favorite things to cook
I will try anything. I love browsing the internet for new recipes, even trying new recipes for old dishes, just trying to perfect them. My boys love everything I make. My husband is a little bit pickier. He is the all american boy. No spice, no fluff, no glamour. He is simply a meat and potatoes kind of guy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have many recipes for mexican cooking and baking. My most cherished is from my dad who we lost 7 yrs ago. His recipe for Menudo is now my family secret. I love hearing "mmmm just like Grandpa's." It really is a comfort food for us now.
My cooking triumphs
My masterpiece, Chocoflan. So delicious, so rich, so intimidating. I also love all ethnic foods: cuban, nicaraguan, chinese. I have a great go to store for ethnic ingredients.

Granny Kat's Pumpkin Roll
No problems whatsoever with this recipe. Only advice is that make sure the towel is not too damp and use more than 2T of powdered sugar on it. I have made this several times and each time a hit. Everyone asks for the recipe.

Apple Dumplings I
Not so sure what everybody is doing wrong, but this is a good recipe with the right measurements. I did however boil the sugar and water to reduce by half, then add the butter and vanilla. The sauce came out thick and caramelly. Maybe that is the trick. I have made this several times and it does not disappoint.

Low Carb Zucchini Pasta
So tasty! What a great way to add another type of veggie to your meal. I served with pork chops and it went great together. I don't think I even cooked for 5 minutes in the water because we still like a little firmness to it.
