Cherry Cobbler I

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2006
Great Cobbler, always a hit. I only added one thing, because I make this every july 4th (just a tad late on a review eh?). I slice the cherries in half, and add roughly 1 1/2 cup fresh blueberries. Red, White, and Blue!! Simply delicious.

Awesome Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2006
Very happy with this recipe, makes a deliciously moist and dense cake. Yes, there were adjustments needed. I cut back on the oil by 1/2 cup, and added an extra teaspoon of cinnamon. Also, for the 9x13 pan, we ended up adding 15 min to baking time. Excellent. Made it the first time for Easter, it was a perfect dessert with coffee, a rave!

Mrs. Sigg's Fresh Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2004
Wonderful! Fresh pumpkin always turns out a better pie, and this is a great recipe for it! Higher than a canned pumpkin pie, so a deep dish pie pan is called for. I added an extra 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and nutmeg, just because.

Lemon Dream Bars

Great recipe! I've now made these 3 times, and have found that also adding about 1/4 tsp of lemon extract will take care of those who don't think that it's "lemony enough".

Fudge

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2004
I just had to update my review. I've been making this recipe for a couple of years now, and just want to share a couple of my favorite variations. I half the completed mixture prior to adding the nuts, then in half the batch I add coconut either 1/2 cup to 1 cup (the more you put in, the more it tastes like an almond joy), and the other half I'll put half the nuts and a handful of chopped candied cherries. So good!

Waffle Iron Brownies

Good. Watch the iron real close and you can get them just right, moist and chewy. Let them go too far, and they become dry.

Very good! Easy to make (even for the kids to help with), and so tasty. Co-workers can't get enough of them. We're putting blueberries on the next batch.

Eggnog I

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2002
Boy did I make a mistake making this recipe! My family won't leave me alone! "Make more eggnog Mom!" Very good! Make sure it stays mixed well, and it's so nice and thick! For extra fun I put canned whipped cream on top and sprinkle with nutmeg. Now excuse me, I have to go buy more eggs and whipping cream.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2002
Loved it! I added some poultry seasoning, onion powder, and rosemary to the butter prior to stuffing under the skin, very good. I think the next time however, I'll cut back on the water at least one cup. Really didn't need that much. Very tasty and juicy bird.
