I love cooking! I often don't even use a recipe, and when I do, I am sure to modify it! I love cooking magazines, and my newest cooking challenge is to avoid all refined foods, like white flour products and white sugar. It's amazing what you can come up with when you use healthy ingredients.
My favorite things to cook
Pasta and whole grains. You can do so much with them! I also love to make wraps. They are so versatile; there is no end to the fillings that they can hold. I also make my own bread from scratch twice a week - no bread machine for this girl!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I always get asked to make the stuffing and the pies at family get-togethers. Now I have passed my traditional recipes down to my daughter, and her father-in-law called her aside and told her she made the best stuffing he has ever tasted!
My cooking triumphs
My stuffing and my pies have stood the test of time, and my home made bread is always a hit.
My cooking tragedies
The very first batch of cookies I made, when I was eleven years old burned in the oven. I was taking them to a school dance, and all the kids laughed at them because they were not store bought, and the edges were, let's say, a little over done!
