About this Cook
A college kid living in a studio apartment with two dogs, a wonderful boyfriend and a very sad little kitchen that I somehow make good dinners with! I suppose when you dont have much, food tends to taste better when you put your heart in to it and I do! Im still a beginner but my boyfriend is more than happy I'm learning how to cook real food instead of just making stuff from a box. We're both working hard to get through school to someday own our dream house (and dream kitchen) and of course adopt another dog or two. Im a pretty big dreamer and have a positive out look on things so I guess when I cook even if it doesnt come out right im still happy I tried it!
My favorite things to cook
Anything that cooks in yummy sauces! Chili, saucy creamy chicken, beef stews, spicy food, creative appetizers, dishes that call for lots of veggies and tons of spices!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Gricel's spaghetti's. When I was a kid, my grandma would cook spaghetti's for me when ever she got the chance and I loved them so much she named them after me.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking for the king in my family, my father. He tells it like it is and hasnt hesitated to tell someone if their cooking is awful or decent. I made him a special honey glazed salmon with bell peppers and yellow rice and he loved it. He eats my cooking all the time now.
My cooking tragedies
I was younger and my mom left the country to visit some family for a week leaving me with my father and neither of us knew how to cook at the time so I tried making some burgers...we couldnt stomach them at all and ended up eating take out for the rest of the week...

Turkey Sloppy Joes
Yum! Ground turkey is of course healthier than ground beef so I have a good bit of it and this was delicious! Of course it isn't going to taste 100% like regular sloppy joe because it has turkey so don't expect it to taste like beef because its a bird you are eating lol

Soft Oatmeal Cookies
I love oatmeal cookies but I had never thought of making them myself until I came across this recipe! For my first time they were awesome! I made them for my fathers birthday and I barely got to eat any, they were so good and gone within minutes. Moist, chewy and just enough oats. Will do again soon!

Healthier Hot Legs
Had to cook it for a lil longer than called for but it was super delicious! My hubby looovveess spicy food. The longer the sauce cooks, the stickier it gets! I'm not one for spicy food but even I enjoyed it!
