Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup
Delicious! Add these seasonings: Cumin, Chili Powder, & Garlic to taste, as well as salt & pepper! I tried this and took the advice from the review by SSCHULTE14 and used 1 can chicken broth & 1 can cream of chicken (instead of 2 cans of broth) and added the Cumin, Chili Powder & Garlic Powder seasoning - not being shy with the seasoning as SSCHULTE14 suggested! Substitutions I made: No Cilantro, so I used the Lime Juice and Cilantro flavored Rotel. I used cooked chicken breast in place of canned chicken. Just boil or bake chicken and then shread with a fork. MY HUSBAND ABSOLUTELY LOVES THIS!!!!!!! This is a FAVORITE recipe now, and I just discovered it a couple of weeks ago & have already made it 3 times! You will want to DOUBLE this recipe!

Basic Biscuits
I tried these thinking they would be easy and taste great, after seeing the high rating. I'm not sure if it's my taste buds or what, but I didn't like them. They tasted way too strong of baking powder (and I even leveled it off so it was the exact amount). I used butter flavored shortening and a tsp. of margarine in place of the regular shortening, but even if it changed the taste, it wouldn't have made that much of a difference. I had a gut instinct to add some lemon juice and sugar as a buttermilk substitute that I briefly saw on another recipe, but never use buttermilk & short on time so decided against it. I think that may have been exactly what this needed to make it taste great, but that's just a guess. I will try it in the buttermilk substitute in the future, but unfortunately will not try it with this recipe again. I made these along with a homemade chocolate syrup recipe that I have been bragging on for a long time to my husband - the chocolate syrup turned out great, but was just not enjoyable because the overpowering baking powder taste in the biscuits. Very disappointed. :(
