I made these yesterday, and they were gone yesterday! If you don't decorate sweet treats much, don't be intimidated. I used Betty Crocker royal icing in a squeeze package, so awesome! Can you guess what the monster's eyes and polka dots are made of?

So fun, you should try them!

Those look great! We use brownies and cream cheese icing with decorations for my sons birthday. That is his favorite! He would love these.

The eyes are frosting and the dots are upside down chocolate chips. I saw these today and I just about Died with Laughter. I even call DD over and she said the trip across the room was worth it! Now That is saying something!! They are as cute as a button. Cleaver Lady. Love it! What a fun project for the Ankle Biters. Thanks for sharing and keep creating.

Thanks Patty! What a great compliment! The eyes are actually Cheerios dipped in a powdered sugar/milk glaze, and yes, upside down mini chocolate chips! :)

The polka dots must be fruit loops or some kind of kids' cereal?

About Me
My favorite things to cook
I love baking, especially cookies and cakes. :) I love cooking too, but I like to experiment, which can occasionally mean take out! ;)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up in the convenience food era. My parents were divorced and I was a latch key kid. There weren't a whole lot of home cooked meals in my childhood, but lots of packaged and frozen goods. I try to make dinner every night for my family, though sometimes it's take out due to sports activities, etc. I'm envious of those that have their grandmother's recipes, I don't have anything like that.
My cooking triumphs
i've created a few recipes of my own, one I even won a contest for :) I love experimenting and finding new ways to combine flavors. I feel triumphant every time I bring something to my neighbors, they always give me rave reviews!
My cooking tragedies
I try to prepare whatever I can early in the day, so that the hectic afternoon is less... well, hectic! I tend to be pretty frugal, so I'm always pantry diving. I also menu plan every week, it saves me from A) running to the store in the middle of the week and B) getting take out.
