On Mother's Day my kids and I made the "Crispy and Creamy Doughnut" recipe here on All Recipes. I made only minor adjustments and used several different glazes. I rated it 5 stars, we just absolutely loved these. They were amazing and none went to waste! I will definitely be making MORE

I have a tried and true recipe for brownies in a cast iron skillet that I absolutely love. However, the other day I really wanted to try marbling in some peanut butter. So I came up with this recipe and it took on a life of its own becoming more of a brownie pie than just a brownie. The pe MORE

I have made gazillions (at least it feels that way!) of peanut butter cookies in my time. I decided to give them a chocolate twist by subbing out some of the flour with cocoa. Worked great and they had a wonderful chocolate taste. I think I'll make some sort of bar out of… MORE

About Me
My favorite things to cook
I love baking, especially cookies and cakes. :) I love cooking too, but I like to experiment, which can occasionally mean take out! ;)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up in the convenience food era. My parents were divorced and I was a latch key kid. There weren't a whole lot of home cooked meals in my childhood, but lots of packaged and frozen goods. I try to make dinner every night for my family, though sometimes it's take out due to sports activities, etc. I'm envious of those that have their grandmother's recipes, I don't have anything like that.
My cooking triumphs
i've created a few recipes of my own, one I even won a contest for :) I love experimenting and finding new ways to combine flavors. I feel triumphant every time I bring something to my neighbors, they always give me rave reviews!
My cooking tragedies
I try to prepare whatever I can early in the day, so that the hectic afternoon is less... well, hectic! I tend to be pretty frugal, so I'm always pantry diving. I also menu plan every week, it saves me from A) running to the store in the middle of the week and B) getting take out.
