Chef John's Pavlova with Strawberries

Made this tonight with no modifications and it turned out great. I've never had pavlova before, and found it to be a perfect warm weather dessert. The video was extremely helpful with getting the consistency of the egg white mixture just right. I topped it with the whipped cream in this recipe and sliced strawberries (so as to get a small, hassle-free piece of strawberry in every bite :) ). Made this for 2 people, and we demolished all but 1/6 of it.

French Bread

I made this recipe on a whim to serve with a stew, and couldn't be happier with the results. This was my first time making french bread, and it turned out perfectly... beautiful golden color, crunchy crust, chewy and lovely inside. Definitely best when fresh out of the oven :)

Mini Meatloaves

Satisfying, quick, and easy recipe. I actually just made it tonight, with no alterations. Next time, however, I'm DEFINITELY adding an onion. This meatloaf needs that little bit of "onion oomph" to go along with the sweet sauce. Serving-wise, it would be safe to figure 2 loafs per person (3-4 loafs for that hungry man in your life). In addition to the side dish, I ate 2 loafs and my dad ate 3.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread II

I have made this recipe three times since discovering it a few months ago, and it has always turned out delicious. Besides using butter instead of shortening, I follow this recipe exactly. I have always just coated the pan with butter, which has kept sticking problems to a minimum (there's sometimes a little trouble here and there- Next time I'll try flouring the pan as well). My friends at college love this stuff. Whenever I walk into class with a loaf, I suddenly become everyone's best friend (with a few marriage proposals thrown in here and there). It's super moist and has chocolate... and we all know that chocolate makes EVERYTHING better.... ;) Great recipe. Will always be a personal favorite of mine.
