About this Cook
I am a busy mom who works full time, school full time and still makes time to be a mother to my little girls. Though life gets hectic I still enjoy to take some time to create new things in the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
Anything baked!
My cooking triumphs
I went to visit my parent this last december (2011). My father loves baked goods but his wife is not a home maker of sorts so when I told him Id make him a couple pies he was ecstatic! I decided to take on an apple pie on top of my normal strawberry rhubarb. Well my dad is a pretty picky person so this was a gamble. I spent a couple hours slaving over their oven and stove but when i was done, my creation was amazing. He told me it was the best apple pie he had ever had. The apples were not too crunchy but they were not mooshy either. My father is not the complimenting type so when he said that it really meant a lot to me.This has to be one of my greatest cooking accomplishments.
My cooking tragedies
Banana cream pie. I searched everywhere and finally found a recipe that seemed to have okay reviews. I followed it to a tee and it was a disaster!

Banana Cream Pie I
If I could choose stars in the negative I would. Every recipe on here I've been able to create. This is by far the worst recipe. I followed the instructions down to the seconds. Spent 2 hours in my kitchen and all I got a thin soupy concoction. I thought maybe it needed more time to cool than what's stated so I refrigerated over night. Nope still the same. Don't waste your time and ingredients.
