Buche de Noel

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
This turned out beautifully, considering I've never made a "log cake" before. Rave reviews from everyone! However, I did make my own chocolate frosting in place of the powdered sugar.

Maple and Ginger Baked Beans

Reviewed: May 1, 2011
My significant other wanted to try to make home made baked beans, so I found this recipe and gave it to him to make while I was gone for the day. I came home, the house smelled wonderful, and the beans were great. He used 1/2 pkg of smoked bacon cuz that's what we had. Used good quality pure maple syrup, and he didn't change a thing. Cooked for 11 hours on low, then 1/2 hour on high with the lid removed. Yum! Thank you for submitting this recipe! LoL!

Blueberry Streusel Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
Very good recipe. I didn't have enough milk for 1 1/2 cups, but did have some buttermilk on hand. I used a little over 3/4 c. of buttermilk to make up for the shortage of milk, and it came out wonderfully. Very moist and tasty. Thank you for submittiing this recipe!

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
My DH absolutely can't get enough of this. I never use plain water as an ingredient to anything, so I used a can of beef consumme', and brown sugar instead of white. Also upped the amounts of the other ingredients, and used fresh crushed garlic cloves as well. I had a pork shoulder roast, and this recipe really fit the bill. Fabulous! Thank you for your submission of this recipe.

Pumpkin Cranberry Nut Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
Thank you Darlene for the great recipe! I didn't have any oranges on hand, but did have pure orange extract, so I substituted that and added a t. of vanilla as well. I gave one loaf to friends and they called the next day to ask when I was going to make more. The slight orange flavor really makes a difference. JK

Creamy Tomato Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
I'm rating this a 3 because I omitted the chili-garlic sauce. Can't have anything too spicy for medical reasons-Bummer! I needed to whip something up fast, and this was great. I had IQF chicken breasts which were very large, cut them in 1/2, used alot of garlic and reg.onion(no shallots on hand). Sauteed onions and garlic, browned chicken in pan, removed chicken to a plate and made the sauce in the pan using tblsp. of italian seasoning and 1 tsp. oregano. returned chicken to pan and simmered a bit more, added more than 2 tblsp. of cheese. I didn't have no-salt tomato paste either. For what I had on hand, this was a great meal. Served with rice. Thanx, JK
