About this Cook
I'm a Texan temporarily lost in California. I eat and cook vegetarian with an occasional seafood dish.
My favorite things to cook
anything spicy and meatless! Oh and always double the garlic!
My favorite family cooking traditions
recipes from my Yiayia and Papou, both great cooks and gardeners.
My cooking triumphs
I once got my Texas-BBQ-born and breed brother-in-law to not only eat but admit he liked my spicy tofu stir fry! The man went back for seconds, I doubt I'll ever beat that!
My cooking tragedies
Accidentally using margarine to make Baklava! I totally smoked out the kitchen of a guy I was trying to impress...and wasted a whole pan of baklava.

Gingered Acorn Squash
I used lime juice because I didn't have orange, it was still great....for acorn squash! :)

Moroccan Lentil Soup
Even better the next day! I added 2 bay leaves for some more flavor but overall, this was a great winter soup!

Pumpkin Gingerbread
Used the last of the fresh pumpkin puree I made in this bead. It is fabulous and sweet even though I cut the sugar by 1/2 a cup. I will definitely make this again!
