Decadent Challah Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
I halved the recipe to make a single Challah. We like our Challah sweet so I substituted some of the olive oil for more honey, maintaining the overall olive oil+honey quantity. So if the recipe calls for 1/3 cup olive oil I used about 1/4 cup olive oil and the remainder honey (in addition to the honey already included in the recipe). The Challah turned out sweet and delicious!

Michael's Foccacia Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2012
I halved the recipe and used the bread machine (liquids first then the dry ingredients). I would probably double the onion because I did not really feel it in the bread. Maybe try to sauté it first. Otherwise great recipe and really easy to make.

Absolutely Best Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2011
I've tried many brownies recipes is this is by far my favorite. They come out moist and sweet and you just can't stop eating them. The only change I made was to replace the walnuts by choc chips. Thank you for this recipe!

Sturdy Whipped Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2011
I did not use the almond and vanilla extracts and I slightly reduced the cream cheese (6 ounces). Whipped the whipping cream with sugar until firm, then mixed with cream cheese.

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
I was looking or a substitute for buttercream frosting and this is just perfect. I used less cream cheese for a more subtle taste. I whipped the cream then added to the cheese mixture with a drop of pink color. I used confectioner's sugar to avoid the grainy texture. The consistency was perfect and piped easily onto cupcakes.

Devil's Food Sheet Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
Followed the instructions but used a heart shaped pan for a kid's birthday party. The cake came out perfect and moist, big hit with the kids. I did not use the frosting, instead I melted 100gr dark chocolate in 1/2 cup whipping cream and poured on cake while hot.

Fudgy Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
They were very good, the kids LOVE them. I thought they were a little too sweet, will probably reduce the white sugar next time.

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2010
Amazing! I mostly followed the recipe . I used strawberry jam. I put the cookies in the freezer 10 minutes prior to baking. I also used a 1/8 measuring teaspoon to scoop out dough and make room for the jam. I used the same teaspoon to fill the cookies with jam. Nothing spilled out.

Trail Mix Cookies

Reviewed: May 1, 2010
These turned out great. I beat the egg whites but also added the yolks to the sugar/applesauce mix (couldn't throw them away...). Other than that I followed the recipe with the addition of 1/4 cup flour to counter for the extra egg yolks. Baked for 10 minutes. They came out soft and delicious. I might try a little less white sugar next time.
