Sausage and Cream Cheese Pinwheels

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2014
5 stars if you add some shredded cheddar cheese over the cream cheese!

Gourmet Mushroom Risotto

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2014
I used the ingredients as listed except I omitted the salt/pepper and used only half the butter. It turned out wonderful. I'm not sure how this could be considered bland. I also used the amount of mushrooms as listed and was not disappointed. Thanks for the great recipe!

Mexican Pot Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2013
I made this last night without changing anything. My husband and I both thought it was fantastic, not too hot in my opinion and full of flavor! I used it in burritos with cilantro lime rice, sour cream and avocados. Yum. It tasted like something I got from the restaurant Chipotle. This is definitely a keeper recipe.

The only change I made was to use light mayo and it was still fantastic! I will never use another chicken salad recipe:)

Oven-Roasted Asparagus

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2013
I only gave it four stars due to the amount of salt. I used a half teaspoon which was still a bit salty. Otherwise, this was the best asparagus I have ever cooked and the only way I will use from now on!

Tuna Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2013
Really good comfort food. I did add a cup of peas, and I used light mayo which worked just fine. Honestly, I don't understand the review that says how bad this is, unless you just don't like tuna!

Eggnog Cheesecake III

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2012
Delicious with a great flavor and texture. Did make a few minor changes. Added 1/2 tsp nutmeg and cinnamon to both the crust and the batter. Used 1 cup eggnog Used 4 tbsp butter in the crust Make sure to use room temp cream cheese to avoid chunks when mixing. (I put mine in the microwave on defrost for a couple minutes to help it soften and that worked well) I used a water bath in the oven to avoid cracks, but I don't know if this is necessary or not. I've never tried it without using the water bath. Cooked it exactly as recipe stated and it turned out perfect! I used a 10 inch pan because thats the only size I had and it made 16 pieces. Thanks for the recipe!!!

Pork Tenderloin with Dijon Marsala Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2012
Made this for my husband and mother-in-law. Both loved it! I used fat free half and half instead of heavy cream and it still turned out awesome so I imagine the original recipe is even better! Since the recipe didn't specify dry or sweet marsala wine, I used half a cup of each. It was a perfect sweetness. I personally wouldn't want to use the full cup of sweet marsala. I agree with others, this isn't a sauce for chicken. It is perfect for the pork!

Split Pea and Ham Soup II

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2012
I put my ham bone in the crockpot and simmered overnight. In the morning, discarded the bone and set the ham pieces aside so they wouldnt get too overcooked. Added all the other ingredients (except pepper, i just dont like pepper). Cooked on high for a couple hours and then turned to low until peas broke down. There is no need to puree any of the mixture. Added the ham back to the soup. Basic recipe but delicious!

Nonnie's Ham Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2012
I would give 3.5. I'll try this recipe again using less pepper and a little more chicken bouillon and maybe some other spices. It was just a little bland for me.

Tortilla Soup II

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2012
I would give this soup 10 stars if I could. The flavor is wonderful, especially if you like cilantro. I added a can of corn with red and green bell peppers. It shows corn in the pic but not on the recipe!

Crab Alfredo

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
With just one change I think this would be a 5 star recipe. The sauce was too thick and tasted too much like cream cheese even after adding extra cream and milk. Next time I'm going to try using half the amount of cream cheese. Otherwise, the flavor was very good. I used fat free cream cheese and fat free half and half and it still tasted really good, my husband didn't notice a bit:)

Tex-Mex Beef and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2012
I made this last night for my husband and I and we both loved it! I followed the recipe except for a few small things. The grocery store I went to only had the original cooking creme so I just mixed in a 1/2 tsp of chili powder and 1 tsp cajun seasoning into the tub before I used it. I drained the corn before using, and I also did not cover the dish when I put it in the oven. Turned out great! Love the chips and cilantro on top.

My husband used to be a waiter at a fancy restaurant and can be pretty picky with what he eats. When I made this, he said it was the best steak he had eaten:)

Tiramisu Layer Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2011
This recipe is PERFECT the way it is written. I would strongly recommend making it exactly according to the directions using the correct ingredients (especially the mascarpone cheese), at least for the first time and then modify it. I have made this 3 times and it turns out perfectly every time (except one time I think I whipped the heavy cream just a little too long.. beware of that!) I get asked for the recipe every time I make it.

Tilapia Soft Tacos with Chipotle Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2011
Really good and really easy. Some reviews said it was too hot, but as long as you remove the seeds and use two of the canned chilies (not two cans chilies), its really not that spicy. The flavors used on the fish work really well together. I wouldn't change a thing! Others mentioned that 5 minutes was too long to simmer the first 7 ingredients, but mine turned out perfectly. Thanks for the great recipe!!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
I have made so many lasagna recipes and never had one that I used over again because none of them were good enough. I was sooo happy to find this one! Its now the only one I use. I like to use 1/4 cup red wine and 1/4 cup water. (I love cooking with wine) I also took others advice and added 1/2 tsp nutmeg to the ricotta. YUMMY!!!
