About this Cook
Hi! I'm Kristina a 28 year old mom of 4 awesome kids. I have always loved to cook and my husband is so glad I do! I started cooking with my Omi (Grandma) when I was 5 and she taught me everything I know. She was an incredible cook and grew up in Vienna ,Austria with 9 siblings.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook anything! LOL I will try anything once. My husbands favorite foods are usually casseroles and good down home grub like Chicken & Dumplings. We both were raised back woods style so....I get pretty creative with food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Omi (grandma) made the best schnitzel. She passed it on to me and I love making it for my family. They tell me its better than Omi's but I don't think so.
My cooking triumphs
My husband grew up HATING cabbage untill he met me and I made him my corned beef and cabage. He was hooked!
My cooking tragedies
Several years ago I found this recipie for biscuits that I wanted to try. I followed the recipie to a tea and it was such a disaster! They tasted like cardboard so I dumped em in the garbage. No one but me knows about that...lol

Mom's Favorite Meatloaf
This was great! I'm lucky that my family already likes meatloaf but I like to try new things often. I added salt and pepper (you can do that you know...lol) and the ingredients were really simple to understand. This recipie is a no brainer and a winner in my book! way to go mom!

Chicken and Dumplings IV
I just made this last night and it was a really good starting point. I added chicken bullion and whole baby carrots, chopped onion.celery and fresh minced garlic as well as a couple of bay leaves to the chicken and water. I also used bone in chicken thighs since we like the dark meat better. it has more fat and is more flavorful than breast. The dumplings came out perfect and the whole dish was just amazing. When I found this recipie I noted that with the ingrediants listed it would be pretty bland if I stuck to the exact recipie as it was. I reccomend "tweaking" this recipie and using it as a starting point and guide. It was very simple to make and my Husband and kids were going back for seconds and thirds!
