Marinated Pretzels

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2012
I also decreased the dill and garlic powder to 1 T. each, and I decreased the olive oil. I couldn't taste the garlic powder, though. The dill definitely would have been too powerful with the full 3 T.

Easy Pizza Sauce I

Fantastic! I tried it with 1/4 c. olive oil, instead. I don't think it needs quite as much oil.

Seven Layer Tortilla Pie

It was fine, but nothing special. It was dry, so I used quite a bit of sour cream.

Unsloppy Joes

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2011
The name is deceiving. These don't taste anything like sloppy joes. They taste more like stuffed pepper filling or a vegeterarian chili. I threw the leftovers away.

The flavors never blended together. The cinnamon was way too noticeable. It just didn't work.

Bruschetta I

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2011
Very good. I used dried herbs instead of fresh (do teaspoons instead of tablespoons) and didn't use any chives. Then I served it on sliced bread and sprinkled it with Parmesan cheese.

Luau Punch

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2010
Great punch. The instructions can use some help, though. I imagine using a one-gallon container works well if you're ony freezing the punch for about eight hours. I froze mine for about 18 hours, and it spilled all over my freezer. When I checked on it after about eight or ten hours, it looked fine, though. I let it thaw for about three hours, which wasn't quite long enough. Four to five hours would probably be about right. If you're only freezing it for eight hours, two hours for thawing is probably correct. Basically, use a much larger container and add an hour or two onto the thawing time if you're going to freeze it for more than just overnight.

Caramel-Fudge Turtle Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
I was disappointed the cookie didn't even taste like a sugar cookie after adding that much butter. I pulled the first sheet of cookies out of the oven two minutes early, because the edges were all brown and crispy. After cooling the oven to 350, I baked the rest for about 3 min. longer than the directions said, and that worked better. If you're using a dark pan, definitely decrease the temp. The cookies did not keep a nice shape. They flattened out. I'd say that's my fault. I followed the suggestion on the package for softening the butter. It said to put one stick of butter in the microwave for 10-15 seconds. I put two sticks in for 10 sec. They seemed to be softened, not melted, but I can't think of any other reason the cookies flattened. 12 caramels weren't enough for all of the cookies, but I may just have spread it on thick. So disappointing for such an easy recipe.

Pea and Mint Pasta Salad

Reviewed: May 4, 2010
The mint and parsley are overpowering, and yet there isn't much flavor. It's a little dry after it sits in the refrigerator; add ranch dressing to take care of this. Make sure to add plenty of salt and pepper.
