About this Cook
Married with 3 kids (6 year old son, 4 year old daughter, 7 month old son). My kids love to help me cook and I love their help (I also found that it's a great way to get my daughter to try foods - "if you help me cook it, you have to try it"). I'm just a fat guy who likes to cook!
My favorite things to cook
Good question - we don't like seafood...other than that, we like comfort food but enjoy pasta...anything that'll stick to your ribs. If it's good, we're interested. If it's vegetarian, it's not going to be any good. And bacon...but I just assumed that that was a given.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Interesting. Growing up, we never had any cooking traditions. Now, we find new recipes on the weekends to try. I guess the only tradition is finding new recipes.
My cooking triumphs
Our cookbook. We have "borrowed", adjusted and tried a ton of recipes. To keep them in one place, we've started making our own cookbook. I'm really proud of it - hopefully, someday, someone will want a copy of this book.
My cooking tragedies
We've thrown out more recipes / items than we've kept / cooked...we get excited about trying something new...sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. The "tragedies" only make us appreciate the good recipes that much more - to call these "tragedies" would not be right.

Bacon Potato Salad with Ranch
This was decent but lacking flavor - I was very disappointed.

Italian Sausage Tortellini Soup
Solid soup, but nothing special...a good, easy soup to make

Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini
Very good recipe - easy to make and very flavorful. Not a 5-star recipe but a solid 4. The only change we made was by substituting the water for additional beef broth.
