About this Cook
Yesterday I had olive oil, basil ice cream for the first time. It was amazing.
My favorite things to cook
Anything with vegetables. I love vegetables and am always on the look out for unique recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Eating the food after it's cooked.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to cook on $50 per month of groceries, supplemented by food banks. College was a very poor time for me.
My cooking tragedies
I tried a pasta with salsa base for a sauce. Oh my god. It was so terrible, I can't even begin to describe it. It was just SO terrible. Luckily, I was alone and ordered delivery for myself immediately.

Blue Cheese Ball
I made this for my French in-laws when introducing them to American Thanksgiving. It was super easy and really good. I'd definitely make it again if I need a quick appetizer to pick at.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
I just made a batch of these following the recipe exactly minus the nuts (I hate nuts in my cookies). They are fantastic. I was a little concerned at first because the batter was so thick but decided to go ahead anyway and I'm so glad I did. I will ALWAYS refer to this recipe again when I have a cookie craving!

Tahini Butter Cookies
Excellent. I added a bit of honey to keep it moist after seeing how dry the flour made it. You definitely need to let them sit for 10 minutes at least, or else they'll fall apart. Otherwise, absolutely wonderful!
