About this Cook
I'm a fourteen-year old girl who loves to bake and cook,(sampling included).
My favorite family cooking traditions
Olliebollen, which is a dutch doughnut with raisins and apples. We make it every New Years, along with plenty of extras to give to our neighbours and friends. Yumm.
My cooking triumphs
I brought a very large container(over 100 cookies) of Claire's Chocolate Chip Cookies(my recipe) to youth-group. They were gone in 15 minutes with only 20-25 people there.
My cooking tragedies
I pre-heated the oven while there were still rising buns that my mom made in the oven...with a dish towel on top...oops. The house didn't burn down thankfully, but the buns were ruined and the dish towel turned brown.

Ginger Rhubarb Crisp
This recipe turned out wonderful. I liked the twist of ginger, so the second time I made it I added another tablespoon, which made it extra spicy. Yum.

Grandma's Gingersnap Cookies
I can't stop making these cookies....they're so good. A variation I made was throwing in some cloves or other spices. These cookies are awesome! I highly recommend making them.. Beware: these cookies are eaten fast!

Janine's Best Banana Bread
This banana bread is basic, but very yummy. I added a few tablespoons peanut buuter, used margarine instead of butter, used whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose and added a little extra baking soda (to make less dense bread). Following another comment, I sprinkled brown sugar on top to brown it. It turned out perfect!
