My mother made stroganoff when I was growing up. I loved it. Have not had it in years. This was pretty close. I did make a few changes.
- Used fresh mushrooms and a whole onion. Sauted at the begining in a little olive oil and garlic and then set aside while I browned the meat.
- Used Sirloin because that is what I had on hand.
- Added some of the wine early to simmer with everything else and added the rest with the Sour cream at the end.
Could have used just a touch more mustard.
Will defintely make this again....the family ate it up.
