Pork Marsala

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2013
Love this recipe! My husband does not like mushrooms so I used a sliced onion in its place. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly and my family loved it! I will be making this often. Thanks for posting!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2013
I don't have much luck with cooking pork chops. Sometimes even when they are tender they are still dry, or tough and dry and I never know about the cooking time. If I can avoid it I dont use a meat thermometer because I am afraid I will release the natural juices. I followed this recipe exactly, even the cooking time that really concerned me because of my experience and the reviews. I used center cut bone in pork chops and they were cooked so perfectly I would have to call them the Fillet Mignon of pork chops. That is why I'm giving this recipe 5 stars. I did not like the breading soft, so for the sauce, I am going to try to simmer it seperate and use it as a poor over next time I make this. I hope that works. Thanks for a great pork recipe!

Crispy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2014
I followed this recipe exactly and I will say the seasoning blend was fabulous, I took it out of the oven when my thermometer beeped 165 and the white meat was very dry while the dark meat was perfect. I will make this again but with leg quarters only. Thank you for the recipe!

Cookie Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2014
Everyone loved these for the gathering I took them to. (I personally liked them also, but one is my limit on account of how very rich they are) My husband and kids made sure I left some at home so they could have more. I followed the recipie and did a batch in milk chocolate also using the extra chocolate to drizzle on top of the opposite for presentation. Thanks for the recipe!

Schnitzel with a Twist

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2015
I have never made schnitzel before. My family always orders it when we visit our favorite german restaurant I made this and LOVED this recipie, as did my family . It was as good as the restaurant! Very tender, very flavorful and surely as the poster mentioned not something a health concious person would want to eat on a regular basis, but as a comfort food treat I will be making this at least a few times a year. I used cubed pork chops so I didn't have to pound them all and could skip that step. Otherwise I followed it exactly. The cooking method and notes given by the poster were perfect! It was moist, tender, very flavorful and browned beautifully as promised although I had my doubts. Nothing like another version of a fried pork chop as another review mentioned. I served it with hunter gravy (a packaged mix), and red cabbage. Yum! Thanks so much for posting this Stephanie. It will be now how I always make it.

Braised Beef Shank with Wine and Tarragon

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2015
I have never cooked beef shanks before. I bought some at the market just because they looked, and were priced nice. So I came to A/R to find a recipie to make them and this was the only one! I was very skeptical about it. I love to cook but am no expert. This recipie calls for Marsalla wine. I've used that with pork and chicken, but never beef. I also don't personally recall using tarragon in a beef dish before either. Well, I did both of these things with this recipie and it is FANTASTIC!! My family agreed and thought it was gourmet. I served it with butter/parsley red potatoes and steamed green beans. You must try this one!! The only variances I made was the addition of fresh garlic. I rarely make a dish without it! Also I transfered everything to a baking dish and covered it with foil before placing in the oven because I had 5 shanks and my skillet although oven proof was not large enough for all of them. Thank you for sharing this! We will be eating these more often.
