Ukrainian Red Borscht Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2014
This reminded me off my grandmother's borscht. Since I no longer eat meat, I used vegetable broth instead of half the water, and omitted the meat. I didn't think my grandmother used garlic in her recipe, so I omitted that as well. I also added a generous handful of fresh, chopped dill at the end and left out the parsley. Thanks for the recipe.

Our Favorite Balsamic Vinaigrette

Yumm. Used camelina oil instead of olive oil. It's a keeper.

Vegetarian Chickpea Sandwich Filling

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2013
This recipe is good! It's fast and easy and you could modify it to your taste. I will not add lemon juice next time I make it and I prefer green onion. Fresh dill would be yummy. It's a good recipe and will make again. Served on a pita with spinach and tomato.

Butter Chickpea Curry

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2011
I really enjoyed this recipe. I used 1/2 cup light sour cream instead of cream as the recipe called for. Also, I did not use condensed tomato soup because I didn't have any. Instead I had 3/4 can tomato sauce. Cooked for a little longer to bring out the flavours. Will definitely make again, but will add something to give it a little more heat. Thanks!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
I like this cream cheese frosting. It has a smooth consistency and tasted great on "Sam's Famous Carrot Cake" from allrecipes. I doubled the vanilla. I recommend starting with all ingredients at room temperature to ensure easy mixing. Some reviewers thought it needed more sugar, but I liked it just the way it is. I would recommend trying it as written first, then add more sugar if it isn't to your taste.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2011
It was moist, dense and delicious. As other reviews mentioned, this recipe takes a lot of bananas (4-6). I liked it warm with butter and wouldn't change a thing.

I wouldn't change a thing. Makes about 6 pancakes. You might want to double or triple the recipe. Yummy.

Breakfast Sausage

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
This recipe is excellent! I like it spicy so I increased the red pepper flakes and black pepper. I didn't have cloves and left out the brown sugar because my boyfriend is on a low-carb diet. It still turned out great. I didn't make patties. I just cooked the meat and made it into a breakfast skillet with scrambled eggs, broccoli and cheese melted on top. Will make again! Highly recommend!

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2010
Tastes good. A little bland. Would double the "sauce" next time and maybe marinate the chicken in it. Needs a little more spice to it. Halved the recipe and it made supper for 2 by itself, not 5.

Seven Layer Taco Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2010
I make this dip often when I am having guests over. If you don't have all of the ingredients or want to add some of your own, it is very versatile and always tastes great. I used light cream cheese and light sour cream. The refried beans make this dip extra tasty!
