About this Cook
I have two wonderful children and a GREAT husband, two dogs a cat and a fish. I like to read fiction when I am not in school or working, and I love to collect baskets.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. I am a bit of a sweet addict. I also enjoy making full sit down dinners for my family. Seems we are always so busy, and some times just eating together gives us all an idea of what is going on in eachothers lives.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mom is a wonderful cook. My husband's mother was also a fantastic cook. It is hard to fill such large shoes some times, but I am getting there.
My cooking triumphs
I am trying to NOT be afraid of my pressure cooker. (that thing just scares me!) I am getting better, but I want to keep working with it.
My cooking tragedies
I'll have to think on this one. Nothing too tragic comes to mind. I guess that is a good thing!

Moroccan Chicken and Whole Grain Couscous
This was very good. My husband made it for dinner last night. He made several of the suggested changes from other reviewers based on what we thought we would like and it was a great new meal.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad
Finally found this recipe! I've made it in the past, and just now for Thanksgiving. I think the key to this is using REAL mayo... Miracle Whip is NOT mayo. I also substitute cashews for the sunflower seeds. I toss everything (bacon too) together and let it sit at least over night. I stir every few hours or shake the bowl to get the broccoli coated. This is always a hit. I can't wait for Thanksgiving dinner, it can't come fast enough! Happy Thanksgiving!

Caramel Macchiato Cheesecake
I made this over the weekend to take to a party. I've never made a cheesecake in my life. To my surprise it was not that difficult and I had great results. It did crack on top, and I was sad when it happened. After reading other reviews, I'll have to learn more about a water bath for cheesecakes. Did not change the flavor, and all who tasted it raved about it. Thanks for the great recipe!
