Wheat Crackers

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
I give this recipe 3 stars because, while it is easy and a great base recipe, it is a little bland as is. As most other readers suggest, you should add spices, cheeses, salt, etc. Once I brushed the tops with olive oil and added spices, they were a tasty snack! Oh, and I also added millet and flaxseed to the dough in one batch for extra crunch - yum!

Whole Wheat Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
I give this 3 stars only because I changed the recipe a little bit. I agree with another reviewer that you shouldn't call "whole wheat" what's not truly whole wheat (especially when you are using more white flour than whole wheat four!) I used all whole wheat flour (freshly milled) and used sucanat instead of brown sugar since it's healthier than both brown sugar and white sugar. Everything else I did exactly the same and they turned out great! I made both muffins and loaves and the consistency was nice for both of them. I will use this recipe again, but only with my changes.

Southern Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
This is the first pulled pork recipe I've ever made. It was so easy and turned out great! I used tenderloin instead of roast because it is all my grocery store had that was boneless. I put BBQ sauce on the bun and not in the crock pot. I also left out the onion because I forgot to pick one up at the store :( But I love onion and would definitely add it next time! Will definitely make again!

Mediterranean Pizza

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
I followed other reviewers suggestions and did not use marinated artichokes. I also added some yellow and green bell peppers and didn't use as many artichokes or ham. Next time I would use salami instead. I also used fresh basil leaves instead of dried. Overall, this pizza was good, but not fantastic!

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2010
These are awesome!! Although I did change a few things. I used black beans instead of kidney beans and I only used 1 cup of water (2 seems like it would have been way too much to cook down). I also used wheat tortillas and they tasted great, but it was much harder to fold burrito style. I would stick with flour tortillas

Suki's Spinach and Feta Pasta

Reviewed: May 11, 2010
This dish was pretty yummy, but I would add more garlic, spinach, and crushed red pepper. I don't like mushrooms, so I used some green bell pepper instead. I also added chicken because my husband needs his protein!

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
Seems I'll have to agree with the minority on this one - it just didn't do that much for me....and I love, love , love sopapillas! Although I do have to say that, even though I didn't care for it, it was a hit at the Cinco de Mayo party. To me, it was much too fattening and sweet to eat.

Sesame Beef Stir-Fry

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
This is a great base recipe. I cut the oil in half as other reviews suggested. I also added a lot more ginger and red pepper flakes because my husband and I love spice and flavor! After the modifications, it was great! Leftovers heated up well!
