"Zuccotto" Cupcakes

Really good recipe - although I likely won't use raspberries in the filling going forward and find something else. But these were loved otherwise, my husband ate 4 before 8 am! Will make it again, but it its intensive and needs a lot of time to prep and complete.

Bratwurst, Potato and Cabbage Soup

Good, I'll definitely make again. I used broth instead of water and did not have swiss cheese, so just omitted that step. It took a while to thicken up, so I might adjust that in the future, but overall was really good. Thanks for the recipe.

Pumpkin Ginger Cupcakes

Good, especially liked the use of crystallized ginger. Made this for my friend at work who loves ginger stuff for his birthday. Very well received. I made a spice cream cheese frosting along with it. Will stay in my recipe box.

This was ok. I wasn't that wowed by the flavors, although the instructions are good and it was my first time making homemade Gnocchi. I think I want to try the traditional potato Gnocchi and then maybe I will try this recipe again.

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup

This was good - a really simple recipe. I didn't have sherry, or swiss cheese. I think this will be an easy, go-to recipe. I might try some of those that are more involved for a more complex tasting soup.

Hot German Potato Salad III

This was good - I halved the recipe, but still made about the same amount of bacon (what can I say, we love bacon!). I didn't read about how you were supposed to cook and slice the potatoes, until I already had them in the boiling water. Regardless, we enjoyed this and will likely make it again.

Almond Cupcake with Salted Caramel Buttercream Frosting

This was pretty bad, The cake did not have much flavor, let alone almond. The frosting was greasy and did not taste much of caramel, or a salted caramel.

Sweet Zucchini Relish

They weren't kidding when they called this "Sweet" Zucchini Relish. It's REALLY sweet. I halved the recipe, and only got 1 1/2 jars out of it. I'll likely make this again - but I might adjust the sweetness a bit. I think taking it down by 1/2 a cup would be a huge benefit.

Zucchini Fritters

This was ok - I didn't have yellow squash so used all zucchini instead. I don't think I enjoyed the cornbread mix in this recipe. I did like the carrots in the recipe. I also think it needs onion and other seasonings.

Antipasto Pasta Salad

This was good. I liked that it wasn't a mayo based pasta salad. We also like a lot of the ingredients, salami, olives (my husband's favorite), etc. My only change I'll make to the future is the Asiago cheese. It's a very strong cheese for this type of salad and I found myself eating around it, even though I like that cheese in general.

Bread Machine Cardamom Bread

This is good bread - but I don't think the Cardamom flavor is strong at all. Anticipating that, I doubled the amount and still couldn't differentiate it. We liked the bread, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for, and seemed very similar to any other bread recipe.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

This was good. Although I have to disagree, and say that we preferred the "second best cupcake" which has brownie batter in it. I found that it was hard to tell when the cake was done. However, it WAS good and it is definitely worth trying. I used Chocolate Marshmallow frosting from this site, which I think helped to make this cupcake. Given the choice again, I think I will make the brownie recipe over this one.

Banana Pudding IV

This was very well received at a family get together. People commented "this is not your average banana pudding". The only reason why I am not giving it 5 stars is because I personally didn't care for it, and it won't be in my regular recipe rotation unless requested.

Chicken Chimi in the Oven

This was good - my husband liked it and even took leftovers for lunch, which considering he isn't a huge chicken fan, is a good indicator for this recipe. It took a lot longer than 15 minutes for it to get even a little crispy, and they were difficult to turn in the oven. I think I will cut the rolls in half next time for easier turning. I also didn't put the entire 1/4 cup of chili powder in, that just seemed way too much and since it was late, I didn't want to make something inedible. I just estimated the amount based on what I put in other similar dishes. All in all, I'll likely make this again. Thanks!

Irish Shepherd's Pie

This is pretty good - I enjoyed making it, but it wasn't loved by my husband. That might be because it was lamb, and I generally make Shepherds' pie with ground beef. However, I enjoyed it I just didn't think it was spectacular.
