Sweet and Sour Chicken III

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2010
This recipe is a great basis for the amazing dinner. I've changed it a bit - added onions and cashew and varied sugar/vinegar/spices amounts to taste. Served over rice with green tea it was just perfect. Many thanks to the author!

Simple Tuna Melts

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2010
I love tuna and I am always looking for great ideas for eating it without mayo. This one is now my breakfast of choice. I've increased the amount of jalapeño - we love our food really spicy.

Grilled Bacon Jalapeno Wraps

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2011
Excellent recipe if you like your food spicy. It was a hit at my last bbq party. However I've altered the ingredients list a bit using pickled chilies instead of fresh jalapenos.

Sun-Dried Tomato, Feta and Pine Nut Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2012
Excellent salad. Everyone just loved eat. Even guest who doesn't usually eat greens asked for extra portion. I used sliced almonds instead of pine nuts and skipped feta. I also used arugula instead of mixed salad greens. My tomatoes were preserved in oil hence I didn't have soak them. I also find they have more flavor than dry ones. I didn't add any oil or salt - served them by side. Some people used oil, some (including me) preferred plain salad. And no one needed salt - the croutons came out rather salty.

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2012
It's pretty rare that I follow the recipe very strictly. It's even more unusual that I love the result. I am happy to report that this recipe falls into both categories. Well... I did make one change. Since I didn't add any salt to the broth, chicken or spinach, I had to add more salt (I suppose 3 teaspoons, but I just added to taste). I made it for a big family dinner and everyone loved it. Even me ;)

Lentil Soup with Lemon

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2012
Excellent soup. Just made it for dinner. I made it more or less true to the recipe. Except I added spices to my taste and used whole cumin that I grounded with black pepper. Came out great - flavorful, rich, spicy.

Irish Cream Creme Brulee

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2012
Excellent recipe! It's the first time I've prepared creme brulee and it turned out almost perfect. "Almost" is there because it was a bit too sweet to our taste. I'll try to use 1/4 cup sugar next time.

Marinated Pork Tenderloin

To my taste it was rather dull. It was OK for one dinner, but I am not going to repeat it.

Moroccan Lentil Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2014
I rarely encounter a recipe that I use "as is", without any alterations. This is one of those occasions. Simply LOVED it. Had to make it two days in a row since the family couldn't get enough :)

Sauceless Garden Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2014
Very nice summer variation of lasagna. A word of advice: do not ignore the recommendation to let it stand for a few minutes after it's ready. I take it out of the oven, cover it with foil, then with a towel and leave it for whole 15 minutes. This way it's still hot but without excessive moisture on the bottom. And this way it also slices nicely.

Whole Wheat Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2014
To be honest I didn't expect much from this recipe. But it turned out to be the best pizza dough I ever used (and I've tried quite a few - including my "go to recipe" I received from an Italian chef). The pizzas turned out just perfect. Great texture with just enough crunch. I am definitely making it my regular pizza dough. The only thing I changed was using the bread machine to prepare the dough. Then I've put together pizzas and baked them in the preheated (250 C - about 480 F) oven on a pizza stone for 9 minutes.
