Scrambled Egg Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
Thanks Cathy What a easy and wonderful recipe. We don't eat pork since I have had pet porkers. We used spiced turkey sausage, which is also low in fat. I cubed the cheese and didn't use salt as the sausage has salt. I wish I had your creative mind to come up with something so simple and so dang good. I give you six stars. Thank You Wayne Nakusp, British Columbia

Smoked Turkey Split Pea Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2012
We no longer eat pork and my wife loves pea soup being a French Canadian. So, I smoked turkey hind quarters in our baraque smoker. I also used my own turkey broth I made from our last roast turkey. She just loved it and so did I, and I don't care for pea soup, but this one was too good not to eat. I didn't put in all the chilli flakes as my little French girl dosn't like things to hot, but the soup was sooooo, good.I served it with a Johnny Cake I made, and now I have a happy wife. I would not change anything except less chilli peppers. Thank you for the great recipe WileyP Wayne & Mona Nakusp, British Columbia

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2012
Well who would ever have known how easy pita bread is to make. My wife loves them as I do. I have a batch working away in the bread machine right now. I have a real Greek recipe for humus which I load into the pitas. Stay away from me if you don't like garlic breath. The pita bread is so easy and so good. Thanks Peppy. I will soon post my humus recipe, easy and good. Wayne & Muffy Nakusp, Brithish Columbia

Very nice mild full flavour. As former owners of pet pot belly pigs,we no longer eat pork so we left out the ham. I will be making this again and putting it our recipe book. Wayne & Muffy Nakusp, British Columbia

Baked Delicata Squash with Lime Butter

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2013
I grew so many Delicata squash and they are not going to waste with this recipe. My wife and I think they are soooooo, good. I have not changed a thing to the recipe, no change needed. And to the one review about being bland. I think you may have burned out your taste buds by eating too much Cajun food. Wayne Nakusp, B.C.

Sky High Yorkshire Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2014
I have been making Yorkies for years and this one was awful. It didn't rise more than two inches. It could have been something I did wrong as others seem happy with this recipe. I will use my very old recipe book "The Good Housekeeping Cook Book" From the war years, first published in 1942, before my time. I will submit this recipe soon I don't want to rate this recipe as I could be at fault. And thank you all for so many wonderful recipes. Wayne Nakusp, British Columbia Oops-- Sorry I see I have to rate to submit--Being fair--

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: May 4, 2010
I liked the recipe, but it didn't say how to saute' the chicken. I used canola oil. I made the recipe for four sevrings and use a 1/4 cup of lime as I am lime crazy. I used cummin in place of oragano. And to serve we used sour cream. What I really liked was the heated tortlillas. I heat until they had very brown blisters which give a very nice flavour. I wll be making this again. Very good! Three cheers to the cook who sent this in.

It may not be a fair rating this so low as this recipe is liked by many people but I did not care for it.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2011
I am a good cook and when I read this recipe I had my doubts. As we say in Canada " It was bloody awful". I will stick to my Mom's old stuffing recipe and my own cornbread sliced and buttered. I would like to give this one 0 stars. Wayne Nakusp, B.C. Canada
