It's christmas eve an we are on our way to "grandma Hooleys" for dinner, as a grandchild of hers you simply could not wait the atmosphere is magic the food is devine, and 7 uncles an 7 aunts (jeanette being my favorite) an roughly 32 cousins give or take.....did
not matter if you was related, you were welcome at my families for dinner anytime, and not to worry "ila hooley" would have something under the tree for you, a quick trip into bedroom to get it was all it took. (wink wink) and they were the best gifts ever...hand
made pillow cases to beautiful lamp dolls all fancey and you just knew it was made specially for you! Grandma handing out gifts would say as she grabbed a pretty box "this is for my wendy" "this is for my kevin" "this is for my dana" Little toddlers standing
in front of the tree mini-loaf of zuchini banana bread in hand munching quietly as they waited for there name to be called, lots of laughters and camera flashes, my mom always looking pretty an reminding us to clean up our mess (always a mother what can i
say) my oldest brother danny wanting to hurry home because uncle jeff has told him that he will be shooting rodolph this year for pooping on his roof last year (my brother was beside himself! ahahahaha) you just did not dare to miss christmas eve at my grandma's
house like i said ......magic. Well grandma and Grandpa have since passed on an the great christmas eve celebrations are no more I miss them terribly and after a talk with my sister dana (she is truly my best friend an i love her like my own child) with all
the separation of our families over the years the loss of mom in 2002 we can either sit an be sad or start it up ourselves give our kids the great memories we carry from grandma hooley. So this year I bought a punch bowl an we have made plans for our christmas
eve dinner because ashley shaylynn, anthony, and alyssa and again you do not have to be related to sit our table so anyone else who so choses can come an start the labelle/stratton family christmas eve dinner tradition. My sister said "you know grandma would
like that" I replied yes, she would probably say "thats my wendy (wendy is my first name) and thats my dana".........Thank you grandma we love you.
